Dear Mystery Writer,

What a marvelous, marvelous post! It says so much that many of us have been thinking and in a smart, cohesive way. My most favorite line - out of a post I really enjoyed - was:

*
against all the systemic HATE,
afraid, lest they should lose their clout.
*

You have unknowingly, perhaps, hit on a perfect description. They scream about systemic racism - but your words are more accurate. It's a sad state. Thanks and good luck!

I think that this poem really showed how fed up the writer is about what's going on in the world. I too hope that peaceful solutions for everyone will happen soon. I appreciate you sharing your feelings. Good Job Writer!

Nicely developed poem on what our dear country is going through today. I think you have described the feelings of close to 100% of its citizens today. Unfortunately, I think there are outsiders who do not want our democracy to survive and are stoking the flames. Well summarized:

Peaceful protests are fine with me,
just don't destroy and keep hurting others.
I hope one day we'll all be free,
to live in peace, sisters, and brothers.

Good luck in the contest!

This work has reached the exceptional level

I gave you a six for two reasons. Your poem is globally accurate. It's not just happening in the good old US of A, but in other countries around the globe. Admittedly our demonstrations are not as colourfully violent as your are but Australia is isolated from the rest of the world yet all of the States have had different "lockdown" measures. I think your violence stems from and you probably don't want to hear it but.... "the right to bear arms" is a stupid Act and your police don't feel safe enough to be able to manage situations without armed response. I don't blame them you probably have more cops murdered in a week than we would have in a century. Secondly, I admire your work. You were able to get your points across very well in poetic form and I enjoyed reading it.if I can ask something of you.... please don't vote for the crazy one this time around!

Thank you for this fantastic review and for your insightful comments. I'm not crazy about either candidate, so not much of a choice. Maybe I should move to Australia...I know it's beautiful from the documentaries I've seen. Have you ever seen a kangaroo up close? I think they're awesome. Thank you again for reading. :)

When we first came to Australia, in 1966 we lived in a steel making/mining town called Whyalla. Our house was the last in town and Kangaroos and Emus came up to our back fence. It was fun to watch them. They aren?t quite as cuddly as we think.big male Roos grow up to 7?6? high and have a powerful kick with their hind legs that can do a great deal of damage. PM
