Thanks for reminding us that "Letting our light shine" will cause "hope to bloom". Your addition of alliteration adds to the poem's intensity. Best wishes in the 5-7-5 contest- Joan

Amidst Darkness
by June Sargent

Hello, June,

We live in dark times and we do need blooming hope. Good syllable count and connection between lines. A great entry for the 5-7-5 Poetry Contest.

Beautiful words used here. Letting our light shine on a landscape of darkness coaxes hope to bloom. There's always light somewhere in the darkness. Beautiful photo and portrays well what your words are saying. Well done.

This 5-7-5, Amidst Darkness, has the proper formatting and reminds the reader that it is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I like this 5-7-5 poem. Your words are profound. I don't often comment on short poems, but this one speaks to me because it isn't just words, but words put together in a way to convey a truth.
