Ciao poet.. I gave you your 3rd vote.
Your poem had a strong impact on me .. Maybe cause my mamma's birthday just passed
( 24th sept..)
She always wished to see me walk down the aisle .. marry a man but her hopes remained unfulfilled.
I think when I turned 40 she finally realised that I meant it when I confessed still in my late teens that I had no interest in relationships, marrying or having kids.
She always thought I would grow out of my puerile way of thinking.
I know my decision saddened her and I feel regret for that but one must follower one s heart , one s nature, right ?
I'm a loner and my pets are my life companions.

Thanks as always for your support for my poems Tempeste. I appreciate the personal story you shared with me, which provides insight into your life. My mother in law's birthday was 16 September; she lived to celebrate her 95th birthday in good health.

These occasions bring a tear to the eyes of many observers (and probably readers of your poem as well) as they bring to mind such love and joyful hopes for the future.

Thanks LisaMay for your kind thoughts about my post. I have the pleasure of shedding some tears at the marriages of my two children, so maybe it is bit autobiographical (-:

Heartfelt thoughts of a parent watching her child stroll into the next phase of life. Beautifully and succinctly written! the photo you chose is perfect for your sentiments.

Thanks Sharon for your thoughts on my 5/7/5 style. I have had those feelings at the marriages of my daughter and son!

This is beautiful!
You've done a beautiful job of painting this picture of letting your daughter go on her special day. I can feel the emotions behind the words as a picture plays through my mind. I don't have kids, but I'm sure it's something to watch your children get married and start a life of their own. I really like this senryu, and I think you've done a splendid job!
Good luck in the contest,
TommyWrites!

Hi TommyWrites!
So pleased with your review and contest wishes.
I have had those joyful tears as my son and daughter each took their ?baby? steps along their pathways of life.

This is an excellent entry for the Senryu contest. Your illustration, of course, pairs perfectly and sets the stage for your words. It is very nicely done.

Yep, I had those tears when my son and daughter took their walks to their futures. THANKS for your insight about that parental perspective.
