Your poem had a strong impact on me .. Maybe cause my mamma's birthday just passed
( 24th sept..)

She always wished to see me walk down the aisle .. marry a man but her hopes remained unfulfilled.

I think when I turned 40 she finally realised that I meant it when I confessed still in my late teens that I had no interest in relationships, marrying or having kids.

She always thought I would grow out of my puerile way of thinking.

I know my decision saddened her and I feel regret for that but one must follower one s heart , one s nature, right ?

I'm a loner and my pets are my life companions.

Thanks as always for your support for my poems Tempeste. I appreciate the personal story you shared with me, which provides insight into your life. My mother in law's birthday was 16 September; she lived to celebrate her 95th birthday in good health.

You've done a beautiful job of painting this picture of letting your daughter go on her special day. I can feel the emotions behind the words as a picture plays through my mind. I don't have kids, but I'm sure it's something to watch your children get married and start a life of their own. I really like this senryu, and I think you've done a splendid job!
