A beautifully written spiritual quatrain with great rhyme, flow and meter. You bring out well that God is our Savior King, to Him we owe every day we spend on earth.

He clothes me in a scarlet cloak, my righteousness is sealed
and God became my saviour King, He is my rod and shield.
Now God anoints my head with oil, adorns me with a ring,
within my heart composes songs my mouth for Him I sing.

This poem, Heart of Gold, inspired by the biblical reference in Psalms, and presented in fourteen syllable-lined, AABB-rhymed quatrains, shows how God has been in control since before we ever knew He existed. Nice.

I can still remember and even hear Mother reading Psalm 139 in our evening devotionals. Verses 15-16 were one of her favorites.

The bible is of course an excellent place to find aphorisms on how life should be lived and why and this poem is very much in the aphoristic style of writing. These simple rhyming couplets in iambic heptameters suit that style very well indeed.
