OH, you are so right, Iza, and many them are words/phrases that have begun to make me cringe everytime I hear them... ugh. :) ;) Thanx for sharing, my lady! ;) Yvette

Connectivity, responsibility --> Connectivity: responsibility

then are some that changed their meaning in the past years getting a more social "display." --> then there are some that have changed their meaning in the past years, getting a more social "display".

examples of distorted meanings: --> examples of words and phrases that now have distorted meanings:

the languages over the world --> the languages of the world

You raise an interesting and important point. Our vocabulary has changed along with the rest of our lives. Thank you for sharing this. I enjoyed reading it.

The word, connectivity, seems to have morphed into a strange being without true identity, Iza. The social media is ok to a point, but so many take it to extremes. It has become a competition rather than a friendly way to converse. Nothing beats person-to-person conversation. So much online can, and does, incite others to react without thinking. Gone is the normalcy of interaction and the true meaning of the word.
Respectfully, Jan

A very well-written prose about wisdom and how the meaning of the words we used changed however perceived it today differently than a few years ago.

Iza,

What a strange and thought-provoking piece! You bring up things I had not considered seriously before. But you're right - we have new items in our lexicon that seem to be here to stay. UGH.

One note:
Some are old values, and then are some that changed
--> Some are old values, and then some have changed

But 'speaking MOISTLY'????? Yuck. I haven't heard that and it sounds grotesque. bleh. ha

Thanks!

Connectivity is not good for the population in general. It sidetracks us from important things at hand. We get no exercise, and are less connected to real people in real time.

Another wry comment on the changing social medium due to this epidemic. We were built for face to face physical discourse, and all this online conversation is quite unnerving, unsatisfying, kind of artificial and hollow. Talking to a machine just isn't the same as talking to a live person. estory

Ah if only this terrible pandemic were unifying. In spite of all the loss of lives due to "Coronella," people are able to fight with each other with more vehemence than before. It's like the "connectivity" has led to disconnection as humans.

A very telling commentary on the current world wide scenario. Interesting how language changes over time.. one .. one phrase..and then a completely different idiom emerges.
