A lovely Minute poem about this little lavendar bloom when all else is browning off. We have a very similar flower, a bulb that same colour, but I don't recognise any of the other names. Your line -you give hope - I agree, I think that's what a garden does. Nice one,
cheers,
valda

I especially like bulb flowers but to see one bloom in autumn is a special rallying cry to courage. Hope you are enjoying the beauty of your garden as you must be coming up to spring now. Thanks for reviewing! Hugs!

LOL!! I can totally see where the name 'naked boy' came from! ;) :) And what a wonderful thought to focus on a flower of hope for the future for a birthday! ;) Thanx for sharing, Helen! ;) Yvette

Glad you found it funny, Yvette, I almost didn't include that one. One of the French names of the shirt-less lady was funny, too. Thanks for reviewing!
    Hugs!

That's a beautiful bloom that comes forth in fall. What a beautiful bloom for us to have when cool weather approaches. A wonderful surprise indeed! Thanks for sharing this well written work. Well done!

Dear Helen, I noticed from your author's notes that you wished that we would write about lovely things for Katherine Mckean 's mother( do you mean my friend Katherine M Kean who lives in France?)
I think any one would be charmed with both your poem and picture, no matter who or where they are!

This minute poem, Autumn Crocus, has the proper formatting and reveals the reminder of God's faithfulness long after more obvious signs have dimmed.

A very well-written minute poem about the life cycle in nature reminds us of the human cycle. New life begins but slowly deteriorating until we die and only our seeds will go on in life.

Hello Helen,
What a lovely poem you have written. Thank you.
I especially liked the last verse, it pulls many thoughts together about the peace we derive from nature.
Virtual hugs, Katherine

This is so beautiful! You allude to a cycle of life for the crocus and its cousins, and end up by relating that to faith that will flower again and give hope. I love this!

Wow, thank you so much, Tina, for the super review and rating! I was hoping to include faith in the poem because that's what Katherine said her mother would like.

Oh, just lovely!
I've never heard of these,
so also very informative and
interesting.
I have crocuses that will appear
in the autumn, their
green shoots...but they're my
spring crocus, so I'm glad they
don't bloom!
Love the phrase 'flower shy'...
so sweet.
Blessings...
