I like the journeying tone to this poem. It's like you were on an adventure and you're telling us what you discovered.
I look forward to Montana's journey!
Nice pun at the beginning...Missouri loves company. That should be their slogan if they are hospitable!
Thanks for the good read!
Tina

Ah yes, that's why your writing keeps bringing me back for more, my friend. Your sense of humor an digging where things need to be dug is very entertaining indeed. You didn't miss anything with the arch in St Louie.

See you in the wide open spaces, Bill. Bob

Thank you, Bob. I gave Montana a weak write up, but others chipped in.

It must have been quite a treat to visit Branson. I haven't heard much about the shows there lately, but I suppose that's because of the pandemic. Great that you mentioned Mark Twain, one of the greats. I never saw "The Outlaw Josie Wales" but with your description, I may want to. Didn't you hear the "Missouri Waltz" running through your head as you wrote this? Or think of Harry Truman of Independence? I won't hold it against you, though. Great work with your tour. judi

Thank you, Judi. I?m on the back twenty-four now. Hope I can finish before state highlights resemble haikus.

Now, Bill, you sure give Missouri a very poor deal. I so happen to know that state very well. My closest and oldest friends are from Missouri. I have come there since 1983 until recently. In the early years, they lived in St James, St Louis, a very nice and luuch place, until they moved to the south east next to the Mississipi river. Lovely area with undulating hills. Not far from Arkansa.
Then you've missed out the Ozarks. Shame on you, LOL. Mountain and lakes. I've sailed there. Beautiful!!
But apart from that, I still like your series. Ulla:)))

I grilled Mississippi. Montana is sparse as well.

I believe this is one of the best so far. I enjoyed reading about this state. I recognized the novels you mentioned but not the actor with the brylcream hair. Your highlights were great for someone who has never been to Missouri.
Respectfully, Jan

Dear Bill, I am sure you had fun listing all of Missouri's famous outlaws, at least you balanced it with the Gate Way Arch (even if you didn't get to visit it) and some of the songs that made Missouri famous too!

In stopped in Branson when we were moving my son from Detroit to Fort Hood. My older son was at Fort Leonard Wood. He's actually back there as a drill sergeant. Keep'em coming.

Mark Twain, one of the greats for sure. The one thing I love about this state is the beautiful Ozark Mountains and the breathtaking scenery when you go further south. Of course, there's the Baldknobbers, vigilantes who tried to bring justice to the state.

St. Louis Missouri is an important state to me as it is the place where most of my Miller relatives moved to in an attempt to escape the harsh racism and poverty that was firmly established in the South at the time. I also met some decent fellows on my way to the Lackland Air Force Base training Center back in 1060. As I recall there were 13 of us from Detroit and 13 guys from the St. Louis area. Nice guys mostly.

Bill, I enjoyed this post about Missouri. I have only been through Missouri heading to somewhere from Tennessee. You used very good descriptive words and nice imagery with the picture of the seal. I enjoyed reading this. Seems you have been a lot of places my friend. Blessings, Teri
