I like this poem, Zanya. BTW, I have a backpack, so maybe I'll be lucky enough to escape too. Note: can you have two lines rhyme in a free verse poem? I think you can, but I just wanted to point that out, so you would let me know. I'm just starting to tackle free verse.

This is a fun read and a perfect entry for the Temptation contest. It is always tempting to run away from trouble, and we have all had those same thoughts.. haha. You did a great job conveying that frustration in this poem. Good luck.

it took me a sec but I think I get it and can relate. There have often been times that I have a great deal to do like vacuum, house cleaning etc. Instead, I go ride my horse!
