Bill, the brevity of your poem, portrays your dislike of the state, or that you want to emphasize the horrible injustices that occurred their over the years.
I heard that the Deep South is nice, but some people are stuck in an earlier time.
I can't wait for the next
chapter, Bill.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Good luck in all your contests,
Cindy

In my last published novel I think an old Choctaw native of Mississippi responded toward the Tribal Removal Act was right on. Mississippi became its own worse enemy thanks to that sorry Andrew Jackson.
Good one Bill.
Enough said.

Oh, I'm sure you could think of something. Why weren't you motivated? I looked up the capital today, and it's Jackson. I hadn't even been able to think of a single city in Mississippi. I've not seen any of those movies you mentioned. Maybe you were asleep when you went through the state. judi

Mississippi home of the KKK. Best I can do.

Well, that's one to remember. The country is overrun with KKK members. judi

Wow, Bill, you really don't have a lot to say about that state, do you? I couldn't help smiling. I have actually driven the length of the state in order to get from Missouri to Louisiana. And I have to admit there was not much to be said apart from the occasional glimpse of the Mississippi River. But then again, my dear friends in southern Missouri live right next to the river at a beautiful spot. Thanks for sharing. Ulla:)))

Well, that about said it all! LOL. I was trying to remember the tune to a song that spelt out MISSISSIPPI, I'm going to have to Google it because it's going to plague me now.
I've not seen those films, and as you know I'm not American, so I really don't know much about it, except for the book Huckleberry Fin, which I read as a child and probably didn't see the racist side of it. I take it that's what most of those films were about. I'll have to Google this and learn something!! Well done, my friend. You might not have written much about it, but you have spiked my curiousity. :)) Sandra xx

This is a great coverage of Mississippi, Bill. Truth hurts, eh? Many of our most violent pages in history took place in this state. Not to say there weren't others, but Mississippi was a biggie and still is in some ways.

Good job. Bob

I've never been to Mississippi and oddly enough I've never used it in one of my stories but by the sounds of it, they're in dire need of a vigilant. I'll send Granny and her partner, Jackie to put them in their place. If their ice-gun cane doesn't get them, their dart gun will, lol.

    Well alrighty then.

I just realized you have no idea what I'm talking about. Granny has a cane that shoots ice bullets that she shoots at her victim's carotid artery. They also have a poisonous dart gun, the poison is undetectable on a tox screen. They've killed drunks, drug attacks and abusive men.
Granny is a fun fictional character full of spunk.

Dear Bill, seeing as how I saw none of the afore mentioned movies, I know no more, than I did before.
So I will go, and look it up, and let you know what I find.
As for your post! Impeccable as always ( I hope impeccable means what I think it means )

I'd be stuck for something to say too, I've never set foot in Mississippi, I'm sure you'll have plenty to say about North Carolina. Keep'em coming.

Darn, Bill. I thought you were going to give my state a break. That's cruel. I can remember when our girls won Miss America two years in a row. It produced, John Grisham, Jimmy Buffet, James Earl Jones, Britney Spears, Charley Pride, Gearld McRainey, Elvis, Oprah, and me, just to name a few. Of course most of us left. LOL

I?m truly sorry, Beth, for the short and mean posting. I guess I was in a mood. For no other reason than for your sake, I?ll revisit that post and boost it up.

No need. I was just kidding. Everyone gives Mississippi bad press.
