This is indeed a sad poem. Your treatise about your friend is heartfelt and tells of much pain endured for some time. Your empathy is stellar and denotes a true friend.

You have no idea how much I needed this poem today. Let me tell you first of all that your poem is written beautifully.Your words have a way of just flowing. I had a bad day. My sister, who was one year younger than I am, died of cancer three months ago. I always have been one of seven girls, and I feel so strange to think I'm one of six. I am OK some days, but on other days it hits me like a tsunami, like today.Your words made me feel better about where she is, how she's feeling, and that we will always have her. All you did was write a poem, and it eased the pain of someone who read it. Thank you.

Therese, I know that there are no words to soothe the wounded ness of losing a loved one, especially a sister, I have had that loss myself. I am humbled that my poem found its way to you and the words applied a layer of comfort, like a good salve on a still fresh wound. Blessing to you and your departed sister.

Thank you so much. All I ever hear is time heals, but we have to live with the scars.

You wrote a good tribute to your friend Denise. Your lines flow well with precise word choices to describe the situation. Your reflection on her is very poignant and sad. Great job with the contest prompt. I could feel your sadness, but also, happiness that Denise is in a better place.
Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

I'm saddened to learn of Denise leaving life too soon. I appreciate your exhortation to show love and God's Light to all who are struggling with such deep despair.
Best wishes in the contest!

This poem, Death from Despair, is a somber request from friends of Denise to help her have a better eternity than the finite life could offer.

You just never know if she cried out to God at the very end. I really think many do and God has compassion on them. He knows the struggle she had and He also knows your heart for her and how you tried to help. He knows all, and takes all into consideration. My brother lived a similar life. He passed away a few months ago, in His sleep. I, too, was upset That I wasn't with Him. I am not sure why He died, but I do know that Goad has compassion on some that don't always receive a lot her on earth.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad to hear of someone helping another through fires of trials. Not everyone does. this is a nice reminder to do so.

What a heartfelt poem...
Sometimes life is just too much for fragile souls and broken spirits.
We wish we could change their course but we know they will find a way if they are determined...
Though many think this is a sin, I can't imagine the internal strife roiling in the soul of those who ultimately pass on their own terms.

Your compassion, love and understanding are so pristinely honest in this poem I too pray every lost soul is found in a serene place surrounded by grace!

I've lost five family members to suicide. Sometimes I wonder if there isn't a genetic component... Your poem embraced me with peace.--Karenina

Your eulogy, is very different and unique. Its dark with a dash of humor. Or its a death of someone involved with a unique group. Very different. Great job. Good luck with the contest.

I agree. Very personal to me too. I am sorry for you loss. The worst is when you don't know why and you wonder how you missed the signs.
