This is truly a lovely story. I just taught a social skills class where we spoke about how people often create a life to make up for poor choices or mistakes they made. This story speaks to that as Amanda has taken in these girls and has vowed to help with the coming possibility.

I had some idea of where this would go, but you still surprised me. My expectation was that it'd be revealed Suzanne was the child Amanda had given up. Thank you for not spelling that out (even if you might have implied it.) Well done and best of luck in the contest.

This is such a heavy in emotion story, and it makes me mad when the girls is left alone to deal with " the problem". You story leaves a glimpse of hope for the young mom and baby. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.
