Jaybird,
My grandmother was from Newfoundland and reciting poetry was common.
This delightful poem reminds me of the type of poem she would recite because it is fun and uplifting and one that could be memorized and repeated when you need an uplift.
You are a treasure.

It is ironic you should
write these notes and poems, jaybird.
-I probably drive my family
a little crazy, but I sing, hum,
and sometimes whistle all
throughout the day.
-I love music, too.
-So I do not find the idea silly.
-You wrote a good poem about
how you cheered yourself up
by whistling; I think I whistled
more as a kid, too.
-I am sorry to hear about
your teeth, but I am glad
you discovered you could hum!

This is very nice poem with a good suggestion. If we all took time to whistle or hum, it would lift our spirits and in turn their spirits would be lifted as well. Thanks for sharing.

Music is the magic that transports to a better level when we are feeling low. Your poem tells it like it is. As always a very rhythmic message that will help keep us on an even keel. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, I love the poem! I can't whistle OR hum, but I listen all day long to Christian music and it definitely gives my life a "brand new glow." Your poem is lovely. Thank you for sharing it!

Your words are so true, whistling or humming is healthy and does lift our spirits. Love your last verse of two lines, hum happy tunes when you feel low, and give your life a brand new glow, are words of wisdom and give a happy ending to the poem.

What a delightful message this is. I hope I have your spirit if I reach your age. This is well written with no errors. It hums along beautifully. This is simply nicely done.

Music and the love of music, is a gift from God our creator. When we sing or make music from an instrument, it is a form of praise that God loves to hear. I doubt that this includes hard core rap or acid rock and head banging music

I love to sing and, as in your poem, with age I can no longer sing like I used to.
I am not or ever have been a good whistler.
But now I do hum a lot and it is very comforting and fun for me. Thank you for sharing this with us today.
