Shades of Anna singing "I Whistle A Happy Tune" from "The King and I" with an optimistic tone here. I like the lines: My whistling came, if I felt sad
and lifted me from gloom to glad. How awesome that humming could produce another happy feeling. Nice share.

Most definitely true, friend Jay. Whistling was a way to not feel alone and back in the day it was quite the performance art.
Humming a tune when feeling low is always guaranteed to lift your spirits.

Yes, I totally agree. Singing or humming or making music of any kind is always a spirit-booster. I love how you've framed this lesson in a very melodic poem. It flows so smoothly and has great rhymes and a rollicking rhythm. It is meaningful too. Well done! Thank you for sharing it.

I totally agree, for me it works... I sing when my spirit is low... I also write & express. A free self prescribe therapy.

I like this personal little detail you shared. Whistling is so personal, such a character straight. And apparently, it came very instinctually for you and had a soothing effect. It's wonderful that you found a substitute: Humming.
Personally, I prefer the frequency of humming over whistling.

I believe you are right with the whistling and humming. Music is a comfort to the soul. I have only known a few who whistled, and I always stopped to listen.

What a happy poem! Loved your rhymes, meter and the humor. I liked how you used to whistle in your youth but with the passing years you could only hum (lol). Yes, I agree, singing does raise your spirit.
