This poem has very vivid imagery. I used to notice this very scene when I was driving to work every morning. You have a more animated metaphor than I did. My metaphor was cotton at the base of the mountain. This is well thought out.

I feel your thought, thinking this might enhance its definition even more. Suggest: Sunrise the mist looks like rolling, white-capping waves on mountains. I could be totally off in this view. All given in my opinion.
