So now i know what to order for my dinner if I ever find myself in Maine. The coastline must be rather wild to necessitate all those lighthouses.
I like the cheeky tone of your last sentence.

It is both rocky and violent weather in that area. Most if not all of the lighthouses are decommissioned.

Hi Bill. I enjoyed this attack very much. Maine is one of eight states I have never set foot in, or passed through. With their lobster, they don't really need anything else, do they? Great last line btw. Bob

Had to laugh at that closing line there.... the only thing I know about it is the mandate by its governor about face shields required to be worn upside-down by front-restaurant staff... think that's about all I need to know... lol! ;) Great addition to the fifty-state foray, sir! ;) Yvette

I love your beautiful picture. I have a collection of lighthouse pictures on my hall wall. Lighthouses on one side, waterfalls on the other. A wet journey that leads you to the bathroom. I figure after all that water spectators may need to relieve themselves, lol. Your chapter is very well-written, interesting, very factual. Like your profile pic too, lol.

This is a short but interesting post on Maine. I have never been there, but I found it interesting when you mentioned lobsters, clams, and blueberries.

Dear Bill, at least you were not posted to Main for some sort of training while in the Marines. ( like being dropped into the middle of one of their evergreen forests with only a compass and a knife and told to find your way to the ocean. LOL
survival training at its best!!

My survival training was being dropped in an Okinawa jungle with a compass and a canteen. Cold weather trading was the mountains of Korea at 40 below. Maine sounds pretty good.

sure does! the worst thing you could encounter in Maine would by Stephen King out researching a new location for his next book. AND. he speaks English

Hahahaha, Bill, I love your take on this and the description on this . I think, well I know that you would come into a great dispute with Cape Cod, MA about your claim of Maine being the number one of lobsters and clams. People actually travels to Cape Cod to eat the very two shellfish. But of course, I'm colour blind, my family is from the Cape and goes back 400 years. Hehehe. But that's another story. Some of which I'm writing now.
All that aside, I really enjoy your series, and I'm learning all the time. I liked the one about Texas. All best. Ulla:)))

Hahahaha, I believe you. The lobsters around here in Spain are quite famous, as well, and delish. And so we could go on. I enjoy your series. :)))

Bill, you are teaching me much more about the 50 states tahn I ever knew that I wanted to know. I totally enjoy reading about your experiences in the military. Being a veteran with my own set of stories regarding military life, it helps to be reminded that I am not the only one to have suffered through and emerged in one piece.

I enjoyed learning a few things about Maine, the most surprising being that blueberries grow in abundance there! Who knew? As a blueberry lover. I imagined them being grown here in the south, near me. I think I will check the sticker on the package next time! Thank you for this learning opportunity and for including a personal story. That's a bonus! Best to you. I look forward to more!

I enjoyed so much this report on the state of Maine. It happens to be about as far from where I live as a state can be on the mainland, but it is fascinating to me anyway. I love lobster and lighthouses and oceans and mystery. Maine has it all. I like how you write in a conversational tone as if simply telling a few interesting tidbits to a friend from the neighborhood. Your style is very appealing and the result is not only informative but pleasant to read. No nits anywhere... another plus. I enjoyed. ~MM
