Life never takes a rest, thank God. You had a very full agenda as your family grew in size and age. The vines on the fence was a great idea.
Your job at the printing shop must have been interesting. I mention that because my husband and I owned a Printing and Direct Mail company, so I am familiar with the different types of customers. We had a cultish group come in and I didn't accept their business.
You sound like you really had a good sense in the way you dealt with all the different happeninga. You write well.

Thank you so much. I notified you three times on the first two you missed and when you didn't read them, I decided you didn't want to read them any more so I didn't notify you on the last one. I don't know why you are seeing my notices. I even told you about them on the bottom of the last thing I reviewed of yours. Anyway I'm delighted you are reading them still and I'm thrilled with the six stars.

Good memories in this story Beth, and interesting author notes. I write in my journal every night, or day if I'm upset, to my husband as though in conversation and it helps me emotionally, I really feel as though we are sill able to talk, and I'm thinking it helps you too. Thanks for sharing,
cheers.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. It is therapeutic to be able to put my memories on paper and since I live alone now It is nice to still talk to my husband even though he is no longer here. Our children seem to like reading things we didn't discuss with them when they were younger.

I enjoyed your domestic narration. It's written in an accessibly engaging manner and the reader is drawn into your activities and impressions of the characters involved. It is a wonderful slice of social history as well, documenting a family's lifestyle and interactions through the years, from growing vegetables, to illness, music lessons, work, religion, braces, having a late baby etc.

My heart goes out to Carol in this post. I enjoy reading these memoirs. They are like taking a fast glance back at history. I am pretty sure this cult is something people should stay away from. LOL

Thank you for the review and comments. The cult is still around. They've changed their their name to The Family International. Ther leader has been accused of raping children.

Interesting story and being an only child, I missed out on all the fun. I always wanted a sister, but my mother couldn't have any more children after I was born. Something about destroying the mold. Not because it was perfect, but it had many defects.
Thanks for the story on how children grow up and enjoy many different things. I took accordion lessons, not because I wanted to, but because my parents fell in love with an accordion player at the local pub. I would like to be able to play the piano though.
Thanks again,
Dick

Thank you for the review and comments. We have something else in common. I too am an only child. My dad didn't plan me and didn't want more, even though he claimed he was glad he had me. I took piano not because I wanted to but Mom wanted me to play. I also too according for a little while.I took speech lessons because Mom decided I couldn't sing. I wanted siblings but I learned to be happy playing alone and reading books.

This was an interesting chapter, Beth. I'm sure your children are going to love reading this book about the past. They will recall even more as they read. Well done, dear. Nancy:)

I thoroughly enjoy this slice of life and I get to watch the children grow. I have gotten to see your reaction to your work places and the new places you have lived in. Interesting!

Thank you so much for the review and comments. The readers on FanStory know more about me than my acquaintances and people I interact with every day.

I really enjoyed reading this even though I was confused, at first, by your references to your.' Big families are becoming so rare that it is a joy to read about yours. I'm sure the last little one led a charmed life. Thanks for sharing.

Beth, I really sense you are not just committed to writing about your family and including the hardships with blessings to leave with your children, but also it must be medicinal to your soul. Its not easy. It takes good deal of emotion to pen. I love your family, as if I've known them my whole life. Blessings.
