Perfect 5-7-5 syllable count.

Great message...it's true, human integrity (humanity) has always been rocky, and now it feels like it may be getting even worse.

Great job and thanks for sharing. :)

In an endeavour to understand this work I have been reading other reviews. Many of us are confused. I believe it is a brave human who judges other humans I feel we need to interpret the Bible in our own way and stick closely to that without judging others . Giddy

Four stars for this 5-7-5 poem. I note by the blue ribbon that this is a recognized work, but it fails to communicate to me. I also read the author's notes at the bottom, without finding any real clarification. 'Stand, state and status' is without visible content for me.

Humans lacking kindness, mercy and compassion.
A very profound message indeed.
Personification well employed.

An interesting thought provoking poem.

Your metaphoric 5-7-5 poem is outstanding in its form and message. Remember in Psalms when David cried out 'What is man, that thou are mindful of him? God is always encouraging us to be better people, humans doing the right thing. Great job, Carolyn

Hills ask God, "What's man?"

Lord says, "His humane role's farce."

Most men, few humans!

Thanks for sharing. I don't really understand this poem, but it is probably just way over my head. I have a feeling there is some deep meaning behind it, but it alludes me. Sorry to be so dense today. :(

So when I read this, I gathered my own message from the poem. Then in reading the notes, I was presented with a different message. I like that the notes are there for those who may not "get it", but I think they muddle this piece for those that do.

I agree that we are making a hell of a mess of things. I think there are good people who are not religious who can make a difference. Interesting idea.

I'm sure that if we could talk to God, he would say how unhappy he is with us. Most of us fall short of his ideal. If the hills could speak, they would be unhappy also, since we need to clean the environment.
