KP, that is good, and sadly describes what is going on in this pandemic, especially.
May I ask what it is that you do? These people in your poem, are they friends, acquaintances, patients?
Our country is so divided, there are many of us depressed over the dishonesty in our electoral system. I am a conservative and sick at heart if we don't pull this thing out.
Congratulations to you on All Time Best!

Hello poem lover, thank you for your wonderful comments, I have recently (6 months ago) taken a job as a cleaner for a shopping center, I was an auditor until the virus made me redundant, I just wrote these words out of conversations I had with friends who are worse off than me although I have been quarantined a couple of times, (that's why I have not been writing and a bit down) (getting old you know) I have been following your election though we down under here do not get enough/all the information, I do know/think that the people seem very divided being without all information I hope the end result is best for your people as for the rest of the world-and then I may be able to write about happiness, again thank you very much, stay well and stay safe ****kahpot

thank you! It's gotten so I hate to turn on the news. So, aside from trying to get ready for Thanksgiving - family and friends are coming from Austin - yes, we are having Thanksgiving! - I have been writing and drawing.
I'm sorry you are depressed. Didn't you say you have a niece? Can you do things with her?

You nailed depression. I know people suffering from it, and it drags them around like rag dolls. I sure hope this poem does well in the contest. Well written!

This write is so stirring in that it is about a very tough subject to talk about. I appreciate that you didn't just offer happy little solutions etc. The picture with it is profound.

We (the whole world) is victimized to this horrible, creepy disease called Covid-19 virus. We all are innocently punished to stay indoors, wear a mask, keep a certain distance to another person on the street. We are constantly washing our hands and are in fear that we might have been infected, without knowing it yet. I guess that the ones prone to depression are people who were already a bit lonely people. They are more so now. Very important is to keep in contact with others. Use your chat on your cell phone, use Facebook, or Twitter, or Messenger, Skype to see others.
You might consider to do a course online, there are many offered even gratis. They will keep your mind occupied. Invent super-good tasting food that keeps you healthy and let you work some in your kitchen.
Before going to sleep, read some light-weight book to keep your mind from filling with black and negative thoughts, etc., etc.
When depression really becomes suicidal, then seek professional help.
Ever thought of praying? God never turns a deaf ear. He will listen!

You certainly wrote a poem about depression. It was well done with no errors. Your illustration itself, was rather depressing and I am still trying to figure out exactly what it is. Your words are very nicely done.

Beautiful loop acrostic!! ;) A well-versed offering for the contest, sir, that within the wonderfully-done mechanics touches on the truth of depression and its darkness that it bestows... Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

Kaphot,

Thank you for posting this poem. It's very well-written and illustration the subject of depression perfectly. I especially like your callbacks in each line.

You've taken us down a deep literary hole, one that cannot be filled, your journey lists the steps that occur as one plunges downwards with no ledges where one can stop the inevitable descent into Hell.

My regrets for not having a six for your awesome 'loop' poem, a challenging form to write in; and the theme is quite challenging too; a timely write given the current pandemic fears; thanks for sharing.

These 'loop poems' are so difficult to do. Enjoyed!

'Empty as life, eyes barren of survival' and 'Sadness that blankets incentive and interest' So descriptive.

Well done.
