So soon we're at V! My, my. The vulture isn't even eaten by vultures. Not a professional courtesy, of course, but there are things even a buzzard won't eat. Love the drawing, poem, images, and research which is always informative, interesting, and entertaining.

Yes, V. Four left to do. It has been an interesting project, and fun. I think many will look at the vulture with fresh eyes now. Thank you so very much for you continued support of my ABC book, Bill. I have really appreciated it. :)) Sandra xx

Good morning. I've been away and haven't been able to read your last chapters. I read this one and found it as engaging and well-written as ever.

I did have a couple of small comments: You use buzzard and vulture interchangeably. I didn't realize they were one and the same until I looked it up (I didn't doubt you, just wanted to be sure in my mind). Although they are the same, it might help to make that point to avoid confusion.

"...do build their nests.Using sticks and..." You need to add a space between the sentences. (I'm sorry--it really is too early to be this picky :))

Small issues in an otherwise well-written and informative chapter.

Stay well.

Thank you so much for this lovely review, William. No, not too picky at all. I've found the missing space and put that right, now I'll go through it properly to sort out the buzzard, vulture part. Vultures are different in that they can eat anything rotten. Buzzards are more likely to kill their prey and eat fresh meat. I'll make that clearer. Thank you so much for that. It has to be right. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I never knew there was so many types of vultures, woah! Personally, I find vultures quite interesting creatures. They're often not talked about much, but quite vary from other species of birds. I'm not sure I'll ever see any in the wild, as I could never survive in the heat they do though!

Hello Chloe, thank you for another lovely review. The vulture isn't everyone's idea of a lovely creature, lol, more likely the opposite. But I hope people will realise now that they are important to our well-being. I'm glad you find them interesting, I most definitely do now. :)) Have a lovely day! Sandra xxx

Excellent as always. Did you know the our Bald Eagle is also a spices of Buzzards here but much prettier. There is the bone crusher. He is something . He eats bones. Flies high with a bone, drops it on a boulder and then sails to the ground and consumes the pieces.
Again I have learned something from you write. The Turkey buzzard here gleans our roads.
Good one Sandy

I have a soft spot for vultures so it is good to see your informative posting trying to set the record straight about what useful citizens they are. How awful that so many died in India because of the dosed cows, thus showing what a fine balance our ecosystems are.

You are the first to say that, Lisa May, most people think they are disgusting. But, they do serve an important role in keeping our world disease free. Thank you so much for this really lovely review. Have a nice day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Yes indeed, Sandra, I didn't know any of these things about vultures, despite pretending to be wise, I only said the other day, flies, ecologically speaking, must be the same, I know all things must fit together, knowing our God, And the dying of species is due to to our handling of the environment, another wonderful job, and incredibly well researched, thank you dear Sandra, for these posts, well done, blessings, Roy

Flies are my most hated creature. I have put the blame on Satan for those. They are all the wicked souls come back to annoy us! Thank you so much for your lovely review, dear Roy, I'm glad you've come to understand these birds of prey, they do an excellent job cleaning up. The Tibetan people actually chop their dead relatives up and feed them to the vultures. They believe the vulture releases our soul and sends it off to Heaven. There is a video of this, but I didn't want to watch it, or put it on here. Have a lovely day, my friend. Sandra xxx

Wow, I never gave vultures much though. I knew they were plum ugly and they ate dead things. I find it fascinating the reason for their baldness. And the fact that they control world diseases. It just confirms in me that God gave everything a purpose. We need each other. Just because I don't know your purpose doesn't mean you don't have one. Great job.

Thank you so very much for this lovely review, and all the shiny stars, Veenbee, I'm delighted you found this one interesting. I think this has surprised a few people. As you rightly say, God gives everything a purpose, even though we might not realise it. Have a lovely day! :)) Sandra xx

My favorite series on FanStory has come up with the vultures! Also for me quite revealing. not such horrible creatures as I thought they were. Very useful! I have never seen one in Mallorca, but now I wish there were some at least to clean up the dead rats. The cats kill the rats, but leave them then in the garden and in the sun they soon are horribly smelling. When I find them, I shovel them up, put them in garbage bags and get rid of them as soon as I can. Wouldn't it be nice to have a trained vulture around?

I wish we had them here in the UK. As you say, our cats kill the rats, then walk away and leave them! They need to be trained to bury them like dogs bury their bones, Lol.
Thank you so much, Marjon, for you kind review. Have a lovely day. :)) Sandra xx

I have to admit that nature's remarkable scavenger makes for more interesting reading than my suggestion for 'V', the humble vole. A disgusting creature in so many ways, yet it performs an essential duty, as you clearly point out.

I think we could be in for a whale of a time next, but I could be wrong - again.

This is an excellent chapter for a book and if you are doing a children's book a perfect V. I intend to look up other chapters as this one was so interesting. There is so much detail. Any age can glean from the information in your writing. The arrangement of pictures throughout the chapter compliments your work. Wonderful job.

Thank you so very much for the six stars, Annie Dawn, I'm delighted you enjoyed reading this one. I think everyone should know how important vultures are. I do hope you enjoy the others if you do go back, I have four letters to do! Then more hard work to get it ready for publishing. Have a lovely day, and thank you once more. :)) Sandra xx
