Thanks, Rama. Posted in a bit of a hurry as usual. I'll go back and check that punctuation. I had fun with this, especially thinking up names and alibis for twenty-two progeny! Did you notice I was very fair - eleven boys and eleven girls!?

    Glad it made you laugh.

    Stay safe.

Yes, that's so fair! I had four brothers and NO sisters. Not fair!

I am NOT a poet so all the explanation is Greek to me, but I did enjoy reading and I wish I could figure out who did it, but not sure. I don't trust Sweet Lady Caroline though. I choose her. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Barbara. The good thing is, there's no wrong answer! Lady Caroline was definitely suspicious, though!

Whatever the style or method of investigation followed, the murder mystery remains; mostly people had no grievance about the murder; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

This was amazing. I am glad it's Sunday and I have a fresh supply of sixes. Finally I see the Sherlock Holmes poem, this was a breath of fresh air. Your humor and wit are extraorinary and made smile thoughout. Poor old Lord Athenree, looks like no one grieved his demise. Great creative imagery, I just loved all these characters.

These stood out:

What a commotion! Oh, who was the murderer?
Poirot and Marple were sent for, of course.
Cloiseau, Colombo, they came for the hell of it,
ably assisted by Maigret and Morse.

I enjoyed your Dactylic meter, sounded like anapestic meter to me at first. I liked learning about this new meter, thank you for your informative author notes.

I had a lot of fun with this poem. This was refreshingly original and very well written and should do well in that contest. Good luck in the booths.

Thank you - I had a lot of fun with this, as you can probably tell. One of those weird occasions where you wake up with parts of a poem running through your head with no idea where they came from - on this occasion it was what ended up as the second verse...

    I appreciate the extra star.

That should be in the prime running for this contest. You've got my vote.
