Thank you for caring and writing about this vote suppression. We all need to know, one way or another. It's important that our voices will be heard. Thanks for posting.

Thank YOU for reading and commenting! So much trickery and conning going on this seemed a current topic and seemed to fit into limerick form. I hope ALL who can vote DO vote!--Anonymous

An excellent limerick, in rhyme, meter and message. Heaven forbid anyone would fail to vote thinking the election is "rigged" and God help us all if we vote and don't know the results for weeks because the ballots are too many for the post office to manage! I hope everyone votes thoughtfully and carefully and with confidence that the votes will all be counted. This is a six-worthy limerick. I don't say that often. ;p Best of luck in the contest.

How very kind of you to praise my effort! Yes, I agree--if the only way one side thinks they can win is by thwarting mail, threatening police and lawyers at every polling place etc.--that's proof enough for me that no voice should be silenced! Thanks so much!--Anonymous

Hello,

This is five lines that says so much, and is a very powerful message. You are so right, no one can silence us or our vote. Thank you. I totally agree with your last line, "We're too smart to buy misdirection!" This is a nice limerick. Good luck in the contest. I will vote for you. Well done. Happy future writing:-)

Okay! I'm on my way with one guaranteed vote from you! No--seriously, though, regardless of contest, as my parents used to tell me: "When some one is telling a tall tale, stop and consider the source!" We've had a liar in chief for nearly four years. I hope all who can vote do vote-- Thanks!--Anonymous

I'm wondering if an election can be rigged, that's my question, Donald Trump is so self assured, he says if I lose then the election is rigged, how can one know if it is rigged against and they win! Well done, blessings Roy

If one wins by "rigging" the votes then one loses! He's threatening police and attorneys at every polling place (meanwhile he's dumping mail sorting machines and picking up mailboxes so they are unavailable to mail votes in--during a pandemic! If it weren't so sad it would be comical!--Thanks for reviewing!--Anonymous

Nicely done limerick about the upcoming U.S. election and what President Trump would like us to believe about it. But I don't think that will work for most voters.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

With any justice he will only serve to drive MORE people to the polls...if only to thwart his implied attempts at slowing down the mail, assigning police and attorneys to polling places, etc... I pray NO ONE opts out of their right and responsibility to vote! Thank you.--Anonymous

I agree with you on voting and what the president is doing.
    You're welcome.

A timely limerick for our day. I hope all will heed you message and not be deterred by any of the rhetoric of the day.
May you live in interesting times. I think Confucius said that.

Well done,

Blessings
Janet

It seems to me only a desperate human with few scruples would slow down the USPS and threaten police and lawyers at every polling site! Whatever one's political party--a free and fair country ought to encourage every voice to be heard through the ballot box. Thanks!--Anonymous

Your poem is a clever limerick. It does suppose that voters have already made up their minds. I really appreciate how you chose to alternate the lines in red and blue (with white space in between the lines) to represent the U.S. flag. Maybe there is hope in the white spaces!

Your point is clever and well taken. There is plenty of shenanigans in every election and by both parties-- This president seems to see no need to keep it under wraps. The "white" spaces (although I wish I could say I was metaphorically that clever)--do serve well to represent those of us who will participate in the election by casting their ballot---regardless of who they deem best suited! Thanks for your thoughtful review.--Anonymous

A very good limerick with vital truth to it. Good luck in the contest.
We should exercise our right to vote. If we do not then we have no right to complain. Not only should we vote, but we should ahead of that vote educated ourselves and then vote our conviction. Far too many vote without pondering the policies those whom they are voting for espouse.

Oh, Patricia--I SO agree with you! Seems the "R's" and the "D's" can barely hold a conversation except through gritted teeth... And each seems dug in to their party's candidate seeing no need to give it any more thought than why wheels are round. THINK-WEIGH OPTIONS-CONSIDER ATTRIBUTES...and vote informed! I truly appreciate your opinion.--Anonymous

Excellent Poem! The author's words are engaging, clear and creative.
I found these words directly to the point. The rhyming scheme is
great as the poem flows and connects well. These words also have
a great message. Have a great weekend!

Great read! I hope this charges up people to vote! I hope everyone takes a good look at the choices they have presented before us and finds someone they can stand with. Forget voting party lines. Vote with your heart. Thanks

Exactly how I feel. It matters not if you've been a "lifelong"--whichever political party. The times they are a changin' (said Bob Dylan) and never have we needed to dig in, follow our gut, and get out there and vote! Thanks!--Anonymous
