Well, you've certainly provided some interesting information about sea urchins - what an interesting choice for the letter 'U.' I would have gone with umbrella. Wait a minute - that's not an animal, LOL. Loved all the wonderful images you've included with this post. Well done. Hugs, Lou

LOL! Lou, you are so funny! There are umbrella jellyfish, so that's ok! LOL. Thank you so very much for the lovely six stars, and another of your fun, and lovely reviews. I love it when I see it's from you. You always put a huge smile on my face. Sending you a big warm hug, my friend, :)) Sandra xxx

Hello Sandra, is there no end to the great effort you put in to your work? This is not exception. Difficult letter U - I could only think of Unicorn (a bit mythical though LOL). Well done as usual with some good visuals. One could argue that Sea Urchin would come under the letter S - but that would be a bit picky, and without the Sea you would be left with a scruffy little kid LOL! Any other animal under that initial U would be very difficult for your purpose. Well done, yet again. Lots of love Dorothy xxx

Hello again! Thank you for reading this one, Dorothy, and for your lovely review. I did think about the 'Sea' but decided as there are so many different urchins out there, I could get away with not lumping them all together. Apart from that, I couldn't think of anymore animals starting with U. :)) The Unicorn as such, doesn't exist, unfortunately. But I did use, N for Narwhal, the unicorn of the sea. I'm glad you liked this one. I've only five more letters to do, I'm researching my V now. Big hugs, my friend! Love Sandra. xx

I do not think I will chose a meal majoring in Urchin.

The hatpin urchin looks very dangerous! Seeing an ocean bed covered in teh purple ones I bet is a prety sight.

Enjoyed.

No, you are not alone there! lol. There are some really pretty ones in our oceans, I wish I could have shown more pictures.

This post is exceptional beautiful and full of interesting facts. I love to travel and swim in the ocean all over the world so I have seen black and red sea urchins. When we were traveling in Northern Croatia, my husband accidentally step on several black sea urchins and he had to go to a emergency room to get these spines out from his feet. Fortunately, it was cheap in Croatia.

What a lovely review, Lisa, thank you so very much. We went to Croatia a few years ago and have always said we'd go back. We never went into the sea though, and if we do eventually go again, I definitely won't go in the sea now after what you've just told me!! Thank you for those lovely six stars, my friend, this really is a good start start to my day!! Sending you a warm hug. :)) Sandra xx

I knew nothing about urchins until I read your story. The purple ones are
beautiful. The red ones are lovely. It's hard to believe that they can love so
long, considering they have no brain or eyes.

Perhaps that's why they can live so long, Barbara, no brains means you have no worries! lol. Thank you so much for reading this letter, my friend, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have a lovely day! :)) Sandra xx

Ah, the urchin. The letter U finds Us looking at the species that seemingly has a million kinds. Well, two hundred. Love the cartoon, poem, pictures, research and general formatting of this cool critter.

These are very interesting creatures. I know about sea urchins, but, I didn't know that they had such big teeth underneath. It sounds like their population has exploded because of starfish decreasing because of the warm water. I've enjoyed these animal facts. I was always in trouble as a lad for bringing in every animal I could. Thanks for sharing this informative and well written work. Well done!

I know, those teeth are rather intimidating, aren't they? They have given me yet another reason for not swimming in the sea! The film, 'Jaws' was number one reason! Lol. Thank you so much for another of your lovely reviews, my friend. I really appreciate it. Have a lovely day! :)) Sandra xx

Another great entry for Eric, Sandra! I really wasn't aware of these urchin facts before reading, they are truly awesome! I believe I've seen some at aquariums before, but I'll be able to instantly recognize them now.

What an interesting post. I've heard about sea urchins but didn't know much about them. It's interesting how they move around, sense things with their spines. Not sure I'd want to eat them raw, eat them at all. Your chapter is well-written, very interesting start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you so much, Misty, for this lovely review. I wouldn't want to eat them at all! I tried sushi once when I didn't know what it was, and never ever want to eat anything like that again. :(
Only five more letters to do! Thanks again, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
