The emotional storms have blown in each and every person. I have faced such storms and at times it seemed I would drown. But, thankfully we have our Lord and Savior who rescued me and all those who trust in Him. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Kit, for this marvelous review, and the six exceptional stars! You have surprised me, because I even forgot that I wrote this poem--yet as I read it again, the emotions and my own thoughts are, of course, familiar to me. I appreciate that my words strike a chord of recognition in your own soul, as well; we writers often seek to bridge the gap of our own solitude, by sharing our experiences through our words, and success in this endeavor can add a sense of fulfillment. It is the blessing that communication brings, knowing that we are not alone; and it is part of God's plan for humanity, as He bestows this blessing.

This reads like a whispered prayer - reverently pleaing to God. We should all rely on God more, take our sorrows and worries to Him. I really love that last line "This blackest night to brighter day. (do you need the comma after "night"? - ( really dont' know as I am not good at grammar).

Thank you, Margaret, for your lovely and excellent review. Yes, I think you're right -- we all need to bring God our worries and troubles. He can handle them so much better than we can, and He longs to help us bear our burdens. I am not sure about the comma, but thank you for the suggestion, it's appreciated. It's there to indicate a pause, whereas in prose, I wouldn't have used it. May God bless you!

Continually, mindfully, purposefully; ( the triple whammy here actually interrupts the flow, I think you only need two of them, I'd drop continually and go mindfully and purposefully)

Other than this small note I thought the piece flowed smoothly and the rhyme scheme was solid. Great work, thanks for sharing. Later daze.

From one lady to another, you are so right! I hang onto Jesus, my anchor in the storm! No one really prepares you for some of what those years do, but with those years come some special memories too, for which I am grateful. Thank you for an excellent and encouraging review, my friend! Bless your kind heart.

Rhyming Poetry Contest

Hello, anonymous,

It sounds like you have cronick depression. There is medication for that. I know because I have it too. I'm glad you find solace in God.

Yes, Gypsy, you nailed it. I do have chronic depression and a very unhealthy dose of anxiety. But I have tried many meds and the results haven't been that good, with unacceptable side fx.
Thank you so much for your kind, insightful and excellent review.
Blessings to you, and love, Mary Kay xoxo

A very well-written rhyming poem about our feelings that seem like endless storms of hurricane winds and rains when we depend on the earthly conditions for comfort we will never reach calming peace. Only God can provide an inner peace that humans find hard to understand.

Thank you, Sandra, for your excellent and thoughtful review of my poem. Emotional problems are difficult to understand sometimes, because although they can sometimes be impacted by day-to-day concerns, they can also come from a much deeper place, and though we plead earnestly with God for relief, they can persist for years.
Long ago in my walk with God, I learned that the FACT of my relationship with God is established; my FAITH rests upon that FACT; and the FEELINGS may or may not follow, but neither the FACTS nor my FAITH can ever depend upon my FEELINGS. Feelings are fickle and changeable, but we must keep the faith!
    May you be blessed.
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

This work explains well how you feel. I like to write poetry from various perspectives, so that others might read it and feel that they are not alone. You've accomplished that with this very personal and relatable poem.

Poignant and heartfelt--your despair and hope are masterfully rendered through fine rhythm and rhyme--startling imagery--anxiety rips holes--roiling desperation--you nailed depression! Cheers. LIZ
