This 5-7-5, Black Bundle, has the right set up and suggests that a new puppy has arrived to help fill the void of another who is gone but not forgotten.

Animals are wonderful friends and do so much for the soul. When you see one that looks like one you have had before or one you know it brings the back to you allowing you to be with them one more time.

This is a fine thought for the 5-7-5 Poem entry. Sometime short thoughts can really hit the spot, touch our heart, and even be encouraging. Well done!

Hello, anonymous,

Wonderful entry for the 5-7-5 Poem writing prompt contest. Good syllable count and connection between lines that helps the flow. Good luck in the contest. I like the presentation and the sweet puppy...did he die? I'm not sure.

Thanks for your review. We lost a dog back in March after 15 years and got this one a few days ago. She reminds us so much of the one we lost.

Your poem suggests to me that the puppy is the offspring of another dog you owned. Although the new addition is lots of fun you still remember the other dog who passed or just grew old. Great poem. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for your review. Not an offspring, we lost a dog in March after 15 years and got this one on Friday. Although a totally different breed she does remind us a lot of the one we lost.

Those huge ears! Small bundle of fun indeed. Glad you wrote this poem because it did the little guy justice. What exactly did you mean by "remembrance of another?"

What a precious little dog. Your words describe her/him well. They do find a way to take over one's heart. Also, having had the pleasure of having a 'bundle of fun', but knowing s/he is gone opens your eyes to finding another one. You will never forget the first one. Your syllable count is good per line.
Thanks for sharing. Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

I love this and the photo is fantastic! I also appreciate that in loving both the pets we loose and the new ones that come along we gain so much. Nice write!
