I'd already read 16, but it's not hard to see what you're saying. The start of another day of silence, and faraway eyes. Could he possibly be in a place of long ago when you were both young, enjoying life together? We don't know. But we can hope. Another sad, but lovely poem of remembrance. Warm hugs, my friend. Marjon,
It is truly sad and painful to reach the golden years
and have them be full of heartache.
The mysteries of life are confusing. I am sure in God's
infinite Wisdom, your sacrifices will be worthwhile.
I am sure Carlo's spirit felt your love all those years.
Blessings,
Richie

Another well written cry against what is happening to someone who is very close to you but yet losing contact with the world. It hurts me every time I hear about something like this. Today I met my son's new girlfriend and I asked about her mother. She told me she has Alzheimer. She seemed so sad. Her mother is in South Korea, and she is too far away to see her.

Oh, dear. Yes, that is so sad. Having your mom, knowing she is ill, and not being able to see her. Oh God, I'll pray for her. Beth, thanks for this review.

This is another beautiful and at the same time very touching poem. I like your lines about the harvest, very metaphoric to the metaphor of life. Your lines are inspiring.

Marjon,
This is an especially emotional chapter you've written.
Your first line sets the tone. The phrase a "loud silence" gives the reader the feeling there is a profound, disturbing silence. I love this one.
Good luck in all you write.
Blessings, Cindy

A very well-written heartfelt poem in your life story. The one thing couples look forward to is the days after retirement when they can look back at their lives and enjoy their last years together but it is not given to everyone.

I think the thing that struck me so much was the uncertainty of your day to day existence during this journey of unpredictability. One can't really plan things, there's no compass or weather report, but one is thrown into a vortex of trust. Well done Marjon, blessings Roy well done, blessings, Roy

I'm just starting into this book of poetry. It seems it is autobiographical? And I guess that the "You" addressed is your husband? Did he have a medical problem? I can only guess at the meaning and am distracted that the poem starts with a child crying but it could be symbolic of a painful world. Your free verse reads smoothly and has artfully sprinkled internal rhymes.

Aww, my friend, you can make the readers cry with such gravitating poetry; so poignant and full of melancholic phrases; wish I had a six; thank you for sharing and please hang in tough, God bless you.
