Sometimes the ears can be misled because they mishear what is said. In a similar manner, they eyes can be deceived into thing they saw what they did not really see. But when you listen with the heart, the message is almost always clear and unmistakably stated.

Hello Doug,
IT is only one letter away from ID.
Sometimes paintings says too much or shout.
I prefer a quiet conversation, even if it's only in my mind.
It speaks of sadness.

A very interesting post. You are an artist of painting as well as writing I take it. I think paintings do speak, at least some of them do. Or maybe draw out emotions. Your picture is interesting and sad. It makes me think of sadness and confusion. I don't know what you were feeling when you painted it but I think that the painters emotions come out in whatever they are painting as well. Just my impression. Good post. I like it.

I do think one's emotions, feelings, mood comes out in painting and poetry-sometimes unrecognized by said artist.

I've often thought, the most unusual faces are those painted on canvas and hung in a gallery. I can say the same with words from poets. The most unusual words are written by poets and hung in the minds of others. They speak whether there is someone there or not. Glad I read your words...I will not argue with you. Best regards.

Your poem (and painting! - thanks for sharing) says so much by saying so little. Art speaks to us but doesn't argue with us. We can appreciate how the art makes us feel and if the artist and viewer understand each other - it's a beautiful thing!
