Beautiful. I remember my Grandmother who lived to be quite old - past 90 (she was born in 1897) and all her dear friends and sisters passed away before her - I remember seeing her crying. The last few my mother didn't have the heart to tell her about. I understand the loneliness that this can bring... and your poem expresses it well. I SO wish now I had asked her so many more questions, spent more time with her. I just didn't understand the depth of knowledge and how interesting her answers would be. I was just too young.

I have been feeling the same way for the past few days. The heat is really bearing down here in Nevada. Usually we only have one or two days around 100 degrees but lately it has been a continuous heat wave. Even the nights are not cooling down like usual. I cannot move around a lot because of the oxygen. I am not very strong. Your poem fits me well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Nancy:)

I find this very sad, and so hope it is only a few moments of depression for you--your messages are always filled with hope though, so I will pass on my hope for you that all your days will be peaceful and happy with your family around you

A few years ago, my neighbour, who had turned 101 when he joined his wife. What you have made me remember was how he would say exactly what you are saying now. I can't imagine how it must feel to get to the age you are now and for all of your friends to have passed before you. It can be heart-breaking to think about. I'm certain their are many people on this site who will be willing to talk. Another well written piece of writing.

Quite a poem of reflection. Iʻm a spring chicken as it were to you, Iʻll be 72 soon. Proverbs 16:31 says: "Gray hair is a crown of beauty, when it is found in the way of righteousness." If we lived a good life, God sees old age as a crown of beauty.
