This is a brilliant entry for this contest..

I read this before it hit the booth , when it was still listed on the contest page and I already knew then I was going to give it my vote ( you have two now )

couldn't believe my eyes when I checked your portfolio last night and saw you were the author.
( laugh)

The owl figure is my town's symbol.

The owl is depicted with an open umbrella in honour of our Museum ..the only one in the world devoted exclusively to umbrellas and parasols. ( from 1800 onwards)

The noble owl is an old and wise creature .. and I can see why he doesn't care a hoot by now about us ..

mankind will time again make the same mistakes .. the shenanigans never end ..

this tug of war between America and China is going to finish bad and the repercussions will be worldwide ..

The double meaning of HOOT is the cherry on the cake ..

yes I know in English it's ....icing ....but in Italian we say :

ciliegina sulla torta..tiny cherry on the cake ( biggrin)

If any entry deserved a 6 star vote , then this is the one . Love the artwork.

Good job with the last line. An owl hoots and I don't give a hoot as the last line is funny for a wise one who pontificates, meaning he thinks deep on the matter.

My owl is a wizen old coot; he could care less what his fellow forest friends think of him (-;
