I never thought of an insect as an animal, but I guess you can stretch the point. This poem is well written and the background color and image are the perfect complements to the words.

I like how you employed rhyme - it gives the form a little extra something!
I would be tempted to exchange the & sign for the word 'and' - just my preference!
