This was an interesting poem! I liked the representation and personification of the bird and memories that were triggered by it. A very Spring time suitable read!

Your poem is so heartfelt, full of sadness. The imagery is good. The theme works well with a bird. Good presentation. Also a good theme for the poetry form. A very nice post.

I love the reflective feel of this poem. The form makes for interesting phrasing and repetition for emphasis of the mood. Very evocative - it made me feel sad. I think we do a lot of sighing as we age and memories accumulate.

Very many thanks for your review and for the six stars, LisaMay. Greatly appreciated. I try not to sigh too much. Have to conserve my breath for climbing up the hill. LOL All good wishes, Tony

Beautifully done, Tony! I especially loved:
"This small domestic truth
eclipsed the sun. That bird was you, last year."
At first, I thought it was just going to be about a house martin but then it seems there is a reference to time and a relationship that was lost.

I really love Dolly's new format and you have penned a beautiful example of a rondaful. It's a bit sad, but very touching. And I'm sure we all have moments when time pauses, as a fleeting memory makes us sigh with a tinge of regret.

Love the photograph of the House Martin, and this is just a wonderful Rondaful. The perfect length for a verse to relay such a delightful moment in time, when time stood still with the awesome sight of a little bird going about its day.

I think the addition of the internal rhyme in the final line makes the verse flow.

A pleasure to read and review today, Tony.

Thanks, Gloria. Always a pleasure to hear from you. I'm not a great fan of some of these new forms, but this one of Dolly's seems to work well for this kind of melancholy, reflective poem. All good wishes, Tony

Interesting poem that is written in a unique style. I like how you expressed the memory of a significant person that was triggered by the sighting of a bird.

Beautiful. I love the movement created by the birds flight against the moment of time pausing. I also really enjoy the almost summary nature of the last lines.

I love the repeating line. It's funny, but it does wonders in circling the thrust of the poem, it displays a stronger message of the poem. Beautifully written Tony, how's the south of Adelaide, well done, blessings Roy

That's kind of sad. I've heard that when birds come to visit and when butterflies or dragonflies land on you, it's the spirit of someone special come to visit. I like to imagine it's true.
