Hello Tony,
A splendid Rondaful, sad, but marvelous imagery.
The verse seems to pause, just like time.
Memories can do that.
The rhymes blend in unnoticed, like a sigh.
Of course, to some, "bird" has several meaning.

Hi Tony, its a lovely poem you've written about new love springng back to mind. The smallest things can trigger an almost forgotten memory of a passionate love that has not been forgotten, but which has morphed into a lovely habit.

Wow, beautiful. Very well constructed poem and tells a story without the details. Reminds me of Emily Dickinson writing:" Tell all the truth butb tell it slant." Sad but heartfelt.

"as my memory of you took wing," What a beautiful line. I don't know if the bird is specifically related to a memory of a loved one, but certain things - fish, deer, ladybugs, pink roses, bluebirds - appear and yes, "that bird was you"
