An outstanding Tanka, Yvette. I loved the depth of meaning that this conveys. You will do very well, I am sure. I always think your use of graduating color enhances the meaning as you go deeper and deeper... the deeper the color, the deeper the meaning. So well done!

Well, Beautiful Lady, you have no idea what those stars from you mean -- you've certainly put a smile on my face on a crazy Monday - THANK you so very much! ;) Glad this one touched you -- that means as much as the stars! ;) ;)
Hope all of your gardening duties will be wrapping up soon as the summer wanes toward Fall -- good to see your smiling face. ;) I do apologize that I'm so far behind, but life seems to refuse to find a 'smooth sailing' mode over here - lol! ;) Yvette

I do know what you mean, Yvette, about being busy... my garden is burgeoning and all adult children (3) have moved back in for the time being... the three men work from home... my DIL and I go stir crazy... I hope you are doing well... we are in the path of this hurricane/ TS and have battened down the hatches here in Richmond. :)

"our soul awakens" - since "our" is plural shouldn't soul be plural as well making this line read "our souls awaken"? Otherwise it sounds like more than one person share the same soul.
Or perhaps change "our" to my. Somehow, this line just seems a tad off.
Outside of that one question, this is a well crafted poem that paints a clear illusion.

Thanx so much for your review on this one, Lady Sal -- I'm slowly wrapping up the 'house work' and now the school year has taken a huge 'different change'.... NEVER a dull moment - lol! :) Take care out there and have a sunshiny week of wonderful surprises! ;) Yvette

The first two lines have excellent imagery. Excellent word economy as you utilized each syllable well. A good pivot line, too. The last two lines capture the effect that moment has on you. Nice presentation. Good luck!

A very well-written Tanka about faith that cannot be seen but we see the evidence of our faith in the wonders in nature and miracles that happen in our daily lives.

"Our soul awakens" is a great thought all in itself. Our soul was never born, and it will never die. It has always been in the mind of God. It needs to wake up and stay alert.

"In a Flash", is an extremely well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a six, but sadly I've run out of them. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I like the words to your poem to me it was deep.
You didn't use a lot of words but understood your meaning.
This is what I call a food for thought poem
Thank you for sharing

There are events in life that make us wake up and take notice and turn our lives around and shock us into believing, those silent moments when we realise what life is all about and live it differently, this is described in so fewer more poignant words here Yvette, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
