Bro. Dennis
It blesses my gizzard to know some one else who has a Biblical understanding of speaking in 'tongues'. I have a long posting on the subject and was really scathed by a brother of FS for torching [his word] Christian who speak in tongues, He went on berating me for even bringing the subject up. e went on to inform me that when he was baptized he came up out of the water praying in tongues, a comment of mine discrediting the popular phrase Pentecostals use "baptized 'in the spirit' resulting in speaking in tongues. I backed up every thing I said with Scripture, which he ignored saying what I wrote was denominational doctrine.
Anyway I'm rejoicing that you and I are in total agreement about speaking in tongues.
PS I once old a fellow Preacher that I spoke in tongues, to which he about passed out, until I said "In the English tongue" My love to you

As one good evangelist told me after a guy took loud, verbal and ignorant issue with a point in his just delivered sermon," "The woods are full of them."

I had remarked on his patience with this guy. A lot of times (I'm guilty here) when we are new to the faith we are full of zeal without knowledge and so must correct every perceived doctrinal wrinkle.

Now a days, I save my flyswatters for flies and my elephant guns for elephants. Discernment is often gained by mixing the two and noting the disastrous results. Bless you brother Jerry!

Though I may not be your target audience, what I can say is that these pieces are at the very least both well written and well constructed. I also liked the picture. The only edit I can offer is this;

And here// cut

He points out this sign gift is not to identify true believers, but instead is meant for unbelievers.

Personal pet peeve, I don't like starting new sentences with And.

Great work here, thanks for sharing, later daze.

Thanks, I really appreciate your honest comments. I can also say the whole world is Christ's target audience! :)

I resisted starting sentence with "and" myself but it seems to be an accepted thing in contemorary writing. And, being the lazy person I am, I now find it easier to employ it. Thanks again, and God bless, Dennis

Many people misunderstand the subject speaking in tongues. It was speaking in a different language that is understood by those native people--not jibby jabby they call the language of the angels which no one understands.

Yes, and it it is interesting Moses and Elijah spoke to Christ on the Mount of transfiguration and the fishermen/discipiles redily understood them. Paul also makes the point (in giving his testimony) that Jesus spoke to him from Heaven in the Hebrew language.
I once told a "tongues" guy Jesus was full of the Spirit and there is no Biblical record of Him ever speaking in tongues. He assured me Jesus did.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Dennis

A very well-written thought-provoking piece from the scriptures to believers who need food for their matured souls. God gives to each believer the correct amount of food that will benefit them.

Yes, as Paul teaches, it's time to put away childish things and grow in grace through the abundant supply of Heavenly bread found in the Scriptures. God bless!

The author delienates the second coming of Christ and the dominance of Christ over all religions, including the perpetrators of HIS crucifixion. The author beckons people to have faith in the resurrection of Christ and renew their faith in Christianity

Excellent! You have touched on several important issues for the believer. The power of God's Word, the deity of Christ. the church and spiritual gifts. Good job at explaining a confusing issue of tongues. It's a shame that there are believers who doubt others salvation if they have not had this experience. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

I agree, believers are quick to dismiss brothers who don't agree on every detail in the Word as non-believers. So Paul calls for gentleness in admonishing another brother. Thanks for reading and commenting. Very much appreciated, YBIC, Dennis

This is what we should do, close our eyes make the sign of cross and trust God: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Some individuals have the gift of tongues like you state in your essay. God loves Israel even though the nation was enslaved to Rome. Your words encourage the reader to be spiritually fed and keep growing in the Lord.
