How succinct and true! Your inclusion of the MLK quote is especially poignant today as John Lewis is making his way to the rotunda to lay in state. True, also, for each of us! We cannot outrun pain, nor hide from it is the darkness of addiction, depression, sadness or self harm. Ah, but when we stop, make the decision to turn away from those deceptive lures and dare to begin the journey toward healing light...that is when we discover what power there is in faith.--Lovely.--Karenina

This is an excellent 5-7-5 poem, Gypsy. Sometimes our own strength is expended and there is nothing left to do but look up into the bright light of truth and decency. We are going through some very dark days and it helps to know that we are not experiencing it alone. Writing poetry also has healing properties. Thank you for sharing this with readers. --Janet

Yes, we all need the Light in order to flourish - physically and spiritually. Right now there is so much darkness and hatred and violence. If only people would seek to understand and show compassion!
I wonder if you can just include the last few entries in the book in your notes. It takes a while to scroll down to the Review box.
