Dear Sandra, I found this post an excellent education for both children and their adult or older sibling care taker, all tied up in one very neat package.
Even two year olds will love the picture and the poem, an audio-visual package on animals, geography, diet, anatomy. . . . have I left anything out?
A wonderful contribution to the english speaking world,
Thank You for sharing with us elders on FanStory too.

Thank you, Suzanna, for this really lovely review. I'm delighted you found this a neat package, :)) I'm trying to do that with each animal I feature. It's been fun doing the researching and it's nice to know people like it. Thank you! :)) Sandra xx.

I learned so much today I don't know where to begin what I found most interesting. I'd have to say the nose glowing theory is at the top of the list. That and how their entire body is equipped to thrive in harsh weather. How they can run so fast starting from day one. Your chapter is very interesting, fun, factual. Thank you for sharing this.

They sure have good sniffers, don't they! Nature always provides. Another fun-to-read poem accompanied by interesting facts. In addition, you provided some wonderful images. Hugs, Lou

I didn't know that both male and female reindeer have antlers. Thank you for the education. I do enjoy reading these facts. Thank you for sharing and I am sure your grandson will enjoy this, as well as the other students.

Once again, you knocked it out of the park. The poem is fun, informative, and easy to read. The meter is perfect which makes the poem smooth. The facts are interesting and would appeal to your target audience. I like the use of subtitles and yours are catchy. The illustrations complement the writing perfectly. I am so impressed.

I once saw a document concerning your post. Russia I think. I was impressed with how the people raised them as we do cattle and ride them as we do horses.
Very interesting write. Our deer here also have velvet before the horns matured.
Well done Sandy. You hard work always earns a six in my book.

What a lovely thing to say, thank you so very much, Chuck! I was impressed with what I learnt about them, they are incredible animals. Roy and I were saying how God gives all His children, be the human or otherwise, all the tools they need to exist in the climate they live in. Amazing, isn't it? Thank you so much my dear friend, for the six stars as well as your lovely review. Sending you a huge hug! :)) Sandy xxx

I enjoyed reading about reindeer. It seems every animal has some unique features.

I picked up one typo:
That isn't all, they're hooves can spread out - should be 'their hooves'

Best wishes
Judy

I have read this through so many times, and not once did I spot that! What a terrible mistake! Thank you so much for pointing it out, I've corrected it now. Thanks for the lovely review, too, Judy. You're right, there is something special about them all. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra

Dear Sandra,
Gotta give this a six. One of the most interesting posts I have read on this site and worthy of inclusion in academic publications. What a fascinating creature is the reindeer.
Best regards
Reg

Another good and informative chapter that marries up the famous red nose with scientific fact. This is an excellent series with something in it for all ages,.

Thank you, Jim. It was strange to come across the Rudolf part. I don't know if the original creator knew about Rudolf's nose. I've added a piece at the end of this for you to read. I decided not to put it in because I didn't want to completely take away the magic of Rudolf's nose....
Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer was created by the department store chain Montgomery Ward as one way to save money on some of their annual Christmas promotions. Robert L. May created Rudolph in 1939 as an assignment for the department store. May's brother-in-law later wrote the song.
I tell you, Jim, you learn such a lot doing this researching lark!
Thank you so much for the six stars and the kind words, my friend. Have a nice day. (Raining here.) Sandra xxx

This was great, Sandra. I can not thinking of a more majestic creature that is more deserving of the letter R. Because of Canada's cold, ice and snow filled areas I am very familiar with reindeer. However, I did not know about the two cold seasons that caused their deaths. Such a shame. I enjoyed reading about them, you put it together very well. Very much enjoyed. A high five to Graham. Blessings, a smile and a hug.

Graham said, thank you! And I say, thank you so very much for another of your lovely reviews, Alie. I've not seen a real reindeer, only on Christmas films. But, after researching these fascinating animals, I would very much like to. They are incredible. I was so sad to find out how the global changes are killing these and so many other animals, between those changes and the human killing element, most don't stand a chance. I've come to really respect animals since I started this series, they deserve so much more from us. Thanks, my friend. Big hugs back. :)) Sandra xx

So true Sandra, we tend to forget our fur covered, feather covered friends. Although I will admit to not overly enjoying reptiles and bugs. (shivers)
