Oh very good job with this tribute to Dean Kuch. A terror rific tale of getting lost in a storm and having to resort to shall we say making do with the resources at hand.

My only suggestion is to align your lines because this is written in pretty good metre and rhyme, but not necessary at all.

A most enjoyable read today. :)

I'm not usually into horror but this poem was good. It actually reminded me of some of Dean's work. Your poem rhymes, makes sense, and is entertaining. Good luck in the contest.

This one has a nice Donner Party feeling to it. Bently little wrote a story titled "Recycle" that resembles this poem. Look it up, it's worth the read.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day and God bless.

There is an intersting story in this piece. How the children made sure to provide for themselves makes me wonder what there parts had been teaching them. However, it was hard to read aloud. I couldn't find the beat and I stumbled through the words.

This is really good work. I guess that you need to be careful in every situation because things may not be as they initially appear. I think that Dean would be proud of what you've presented here. Thanks for sharing this grisly and well written work. Well done!

Hello my friend

Nice entry for the 3 Words In A Poem writing prompt contest. You used the required words...animal - horror - short....good job.

Heh heh heh ... Dean would have loved this cannibal horror story. Well done.

This is horror deluxe! This is a most gripping writing from beginning to end. Your imagination is deep and rich. You have a way with words. Great story poem!

hi author,
This rhyme emphasizes the duty & sacrifice of a young woman in a blizzard--so it's that much more horrible for such a nice person to be cannibalized at the hands of children who appear to delight in murdering adults.
If only the parents had stored sufficient food provisions to sustain & nourish the whole family through a terrible winter!

I think that would work if they were normal kids...but there was definitely something evil going on. Thank you for reading. :)

nothing else to say right now except to remind everyone to store food provisions against that proverbial blizzardy day

This was quite a story. Children of the corn indeed. You are very clever with your surprise turn of events and subtle rhyme that just sneaks up on you. I really enjoyed this. Thank you very much for this different read.
