Hello Sandra.
I know a lot of people that go quail hunting but I do no hunting. When I hunt it is merely moving the cans at the grocery store to find the one I want. You did a lot of research on this one. I knew very little of what you wrote.

I don't think I could kill an animal. Like you, all my food comes for the shelves and freezers in shops. The quail is an interesting little bird, and there is much to endear it to us. I really liked how they are loyal to their family and care for each other. Thank you for reading and the nice review, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I didn't know the Egyptians raised quail. In fact, I didn't know much about them, other than they're good to eat. Guess I'm never too old to learn something new.

I never knew it either, Cindy, I've got the research bug now, it's fascinating what I manage to dig up about all the creatures I'm featuring in this book. I'm glad you are still enjoying it, and learning!!! Lol. Thank you, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Oh, I cannot wait for Gabi to 'read' thi with me! She's going to love it. :) Thank you for helping us reviwew the alphabet. :)
A couple of things ...
common quail and commonly hunted in the same sentence. Might change 'commonly' for 'often'...

A pet quail? Really? lol. Never thought of that...

Another great addition to your book. I"m loving this! When do you publish? I'd like to get a copy for Gabi.

Blessings!
Deb

Thank you!! I've changed that sentence, thank you for spotting that and telling me, I hate when I find out too late. Yes, people keep them for pets, but they are rather messy. I watched an on-line video of how to care for them. Not easy! But they do get to recognise you and become friendly with you.
I'll be publishing when it's completed. I'll have to do a good edit in case I've got something wrong, or made spelling mistakes etc. So, later in the year. I'd like to get it ready for a Christmas present for my grandchildren. 9 left to do!
Thanks again, my friend, your reviews are always so encouraging. :)) Sandra xxx

Dear Amanda, thank you so much for another lovely review and all those shiny stars. It is a labour of love, I'd do anything for that little boy. He is working hard to work through his borderline autism and his severe dyslexia, that I can't help but be in awe of his courage. He is hoping one day to be able to read the books I've written for him, and he told me he is going to tell all his children about me. Lol. Bless his heart. I'm not sure how many 'all' means!! Thank you again, Amanda. Big hugs. Sandra. xx

-Good artwork and photos, Sandra.
-Good choice for the letter Q.
-I am actually familiar with quail.
-You did a good job describing them.
-They certainly have unique characteristics,
like taking off and flying with a little zip if they have to!
-I also didn't know there was an old and new world quail.
-The hieroglyph was very interesting, and I like how you
used it to show how to make a word from it.
-That could be a whole other story,
like "find your name in hieroglyphs!"
-I didn't know that quail has been added as a verb
in our language; I don't think I have heard anyone say that.
-A very good presentation about the quail, my friend.

We have used 'quail' as a verb for years, and I've just double-checked and it is used in America, too. My word, I'm teaching you lots of things, Pam!! Lol. The funny thing is, I wasn't at all happy with using the quail (bird) as the next letter, I didn't think they'd be very interesting. But as always happens when I start to research something, one thing leads to another and suddenly this bird became my number one favourite! I liked that it mated for life, and both helped with the raising of their children. Aww, so lovely. I'm over the moon you liked my presentation of these birds, my friend. Thank you so very much, and a big hug for those shiny stars. :)) Sandra xxx

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Sandra. Yes, I do learn a lot of words from you, and am gobsmacked by it! No kerfuffles here:) I am glad you used quail, too. They are very nice little birds.

This is a very interesting research on quail. We used to raise them for their eggs. Thais love to eat the birds, and they put quail eggs in some soups. Enjoyed reading this post!

I'm really pleased you enjoyed reading this one, Rebecca, it was hard going, but once I delved deeper, I was surprised at how interesting these little birds are. I'm sure you could have told me a thing or two about them, seeing as you raised them. Thank you, my friend! :)) Sandra xx

Aw, thank you, Roy. I'm so pleased you enjoy reading about the animals/birds and fish I'm writing about. It's been a great educational journey for me, too.
I've made that correction, and fell about laughing at the same time. How can anyone breed with bread!!! LOL. Thank your wife for me. It's easy when you love them, as you both know. Take care, my dear friend. :)) Sandra xx

Not a great choice this time to choose from. So for me to get second place is no feat of prediction. Again you surprise the reader with the facts. I must admit I've never tasted one, the fear of poisoning may cure me of any future desire, no matter how well cooked or presented it may be. Good luck with the book. ~Mel~ xx

Lol, you are like me, I won't be tasting these little birds now. It's probably their way of dishing out revenge for killing them! Thank you so much for another lovely review, my friend. So. what will R be? Take care and have a lovely afternoon. :)) Sandra xx

Oh, now I'm concerned. I eat quail quite often a delicacy to me. And now I learn it could be extinct!!!
This is another lovely and informative article, Sandra, dedicated to the letter Q. It's so well written. I love it. Please do tell Graham that I'm impressed. He's quite the artist. A big hug. Ulla xxx

Thank you so very much for the sixth star, Ulla, and the lovely review to go with it! I'm glad you liked Graham's picture, it's cute, isn't it!! Lol. I've never eaten quail, and not sure I ever will now I've researched them. Learning that they are family loving birds, loyal and sociable, makes my put them up in the cat and dog department of not eating them!! I know, I'm mad. Lol. Thanks again, my friend. ;)) Sandra xx

Oh you do have a soft heart. Bless you! But do you know what, I'm having second thoughts, as well, now, about eating them. So that makes two of us. Ulla xx
