I think you've hit a mark many people feel when it comes to the duties of maintaining a house. When one begins to look around at all that needs to be done, a great line "it may require gasoline and matches." Thanks for posting.

Well, this sonnet is not about love. I think the hate for this derelict house is more defining it. But a sonnet it is! And I think a good entry for the contest as well. I am not familiar with the saying: to hit the hay, or, in this case: to unhit the hay.
