Another good memory with your deceased husband that you are writing to be able to share it with your children, This is a wonderful idea.

This work has reached the exceptional level

You've related a very exciting story in this chapter! Your daughter Carol was very proactive and resourceful, for a child -- thank God! I once got myself stuck, completely alone, in a high-rise office building in Manhattan, working as an office temp, late at night, but I will have to fill you in on another occasion. You have my sympathy!

I am delighted that you read my story and as usually did such a wonderful job of catching things I missed. I've corrected them thanks to you. You know I'm thrilled with the six stars. Thank you so much. I hope ;you'll write about the time you were locked in in New York.

Dear Beth, it's always such a pleasure to hear back from you, when I review your work! I'm sorry it's taken some time for me to respond, but my personal life has been filled with extra responsibilities because my husband Jorge has been sick a lot, plus he fell in the bathroom and bruised two ribs -- I thank God it wasn't worse than that -- but having some disabilities myself, it's been a tough go, these past two weeks. He's getting better, by the grace of God. He's feeling so good right now that he's laughing at a comedian with his headphones on, making it hard for me to concentrate ;-)
I love your new profile pic! The former one was very nice too, but this one is also attractive and features a cute kitty, who you obviously love!
Yes, I got myself trapped in a building, in the wee hours of the morning, and in a nutshell, I had to call the FDNY to be rescued! I was actually able to ride down the elevator before they arrived, but I wasn't invited back again to work at that assignment! It might make a good short story or flash nonfiction, even though I've spilled the beans, in advance... although I doubt many people are reading all of these reviews. Ah, yes, memories! Some moments to enjoy, and others to laugh about. God bless you, my friend. - Mary Kay xoxo

I so sorry to learn you've been dealing with problem but is good to know everyone is on the mend. The other picture was 10 years old. This one was within the last year. I get locked in where I'm working again as well. I just didn't realize everyone had gone home but me. I hope you write your story. Thanks for the long personal answer.

I've been to Louisiana once, the French Quarter to be exact. Frank and I went to what almost amounted to a porn show!
How scary to be so high up and be locked out from your children. Panic for sure. Lesson learned: always let your children know where you are. :-)

This would be the perfect spot to catch a porn show. I never went to one but they were well advertised. Thank you for the review. That incident did scare me pretty bad but it wasn't the last time I got scared in New Orleans.

In a new city and discovering the city's sites, when the door becomes locked behind you. How frightening. I am sure that your new way of life perhaps brought much excitement to you and your family. New adventures!

My goodness, Beth, this is so well written. You had me in a fright when you described how you'd been locked into that stairwell. I can just imagine all the nightmares you envisaged.
I've been to New Orleans a couple of times driving down from Missouri after visiting my friends there. I have to say that I love the French quarters. But then again, in Denmark we are brought up with Jazz.
Can't wait to be reading on. Ulla:)))

Wow, Your Carol is a lot like my Nancy. She was always my savior when things got tough. LOL You are somewhat more adventurous than I am. I am a home body and love to be home but I had several jobs through the years. This was an interesting chapter. I felt your panic both times. LOL Nancy:)

New Orlandends sounds like a fun, exciting place. A lot to see and do for sure. I love how you touched on some of the places. It made me feel like I was there. I can't imagine how frightened you were being stuck like that. I'm glad your daughter found you, and that everyone was alright. This is a well-written, interesting piece. I look forward to reading more.

Dear Beth, your last sentence gives the clue! No it would not be the last time you found a reason to panic in your new home city.
You now have me on pins and needles waiting to discover the source of your next reasons to panic.
Post as soon as you can?

Thank you Suzanna, I'm quite capable of getting myself in trouble at regular intervals and so are my children but every chapter won't end in a panic. However, stay tuned. Some will.

Hi Beth. Nice to check in with you again and see what has progressed. I am sorry I don't have more time to review all of your chapters my friend. I love the "human situations" in this and all of the chapters I have read.

Great imagery in this chapter too, Beth, like: " when Christi noticed the distressed expression on my face as I came up sputtering and coughing. She yelled "Get off her. You're killing my mama."

And here: " I had on high-heel shoes, so I pulled one off and used the heel to bang on the door, but still no one could hear me."

Good job on this one, my friend. Keep up the good work. : ) Bob

Bob, I understand and I'm pleased that you check in every now and then. This book is mostly for my children and grandchildren, but I delighted that I have some that read it regularly. One of these days I'lI try a novel, but for me it is easy to write stories that already exist in my head. Thanks so much.
