ah,
you've captured the eternal puzzle beautifully in a cosmic boat out of mind, not out of control...love your peaceful sailing to the brink of chaos be it heaven or perhaps something more surprising and grand ...hell? another universe? another boat without a sail? another you? silence? - Lobber

When the mind drifts to other places, in time, in space, away from the human race, does truth scrub away the false notions, emotions, and hurtful messages?
Can the negatives of life be embraced by the Phoenix of the mind and cleansed and re energized?
Listen and watch as your mind travels, mark the path that will forever enrich your spirit, and then you will enjoy a peaceful life.

Wise words in response to my poem, El. Your avatar of the boat with the billowing moon is much along the same lines! Thank you very much, both for your comments and for the sixth star.

Comment from Debbie Pope
This was an eerie journey, Tony. At first, I thought I was about to embark on a sweet Wynken, Blynken, and Nod type of trip. But I soon saw just how darkness driven the trip was to be--more out of mind than simply off to sleep. The journey to the stars turned from nursery rhyme to science fiction with fractal space and crystal shower. It was interesting how you lulled the reader in like that. This lulling continued with your "musical, small sweet noise." Then stillness and hell was thrown into the mix. Makes you ponder. I know that your message has many levels, but one message that I take away is that considering today's disturbing world, silence might be a pretty good heaven. Or it could be lonely as hell.
Outstanding word choices and craftsmanship.

Thank you so much, Debbie, for responding in such detail to this poem of mine and for your perceptive thoughts and comments. You've caught the meaning of my last line exactly. Thank you, too, for the sixth star. Appreciated, as always. Best wishes, Tony
Comment from Raffaelina Lowcock
The journeys that we take in our minds are quite fulfilling, at times. It seems to happen as we lie in bed, just before we nod off. That seems to be the height of our day as we allow our minds to receive the vividness of our imagination. This is a well-written trip to the stars, Tony.
"I set my sails, there is no wind,
Yet they are full and billowing,
By darkness driven, nothingness,
An utter calm, a silk caress." Ralf

Comment from Pam (respa)
-Very nice artwork
and presentation, Tony.
-A very well written poem
with effective imagery, meter,
rhyme, and flow of ideas.
-I like the opening lines as
you journey to the stars
"In my small boat that has no oars."
-In re-reading it, there is a good
link between those opening lines
to the end, where you question
exactly where you have been.
-Very well done!

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Tony. I was going to say, I was in the clouds, and you were in the stars so I saved it for the reply:) It was a good poem.

I like the journey that you have taken me on. The journey of the mind... the best kind! I got the idea that I was catapulted to the stars and looking down upon Earth and contemplating if that was heaven or hell? That was my perspective on your poem. It was well written and I enjoyed it very much! -January L. :)

I find you poetry very enjoyable reading. It was nice to take this journey to the stars in you boat without oars. It sounds as though your nightly journeys might be more serene than mine. I'd like the think that musical small sweet voice that fades away wouldn't be a glimpse of hell.

Hi Tony. You have woven a spell of mystical fantasies as we journey through your verse... its as if we were on a raft and wafting through galaxies and having conversations with the moon and stars. Very imaginative piece and obviously well written. Great job.

Comment from Jacob David Collins
I thought this was an engaging piece. For me I felt you were referring to dreaming when you go to sleep, and your last line referring to either a nightmare or a good dream. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

This is one of those whimsical pieces that has a lovely aftertaste.
I think this is created partly by the content itself and partly by the clever use of near rhymes, particularly the use of consonance that seems to suggest rhyme while leaving it just out of reach.
This was an enjoyable start to my Sunday morning. Thank you.
