I always thought that we have a purpose in this life, but then things are happening and stir us out of course. "But man by nature still resists,
and God in love always persists.
I don't know why some men receive
while others turn... God still bereaves.
" Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Hi Roy. You have given a wonderful gift with this writing, dear friend. Roy, you are rhe absolute bes when it comes to faith poetry on this site. You do know that, right?
"And yet I know the sun doth rise --
for God's not taken by surprise;
before creation's stone was laid,
God deemed man's sin by Christ be paid."
God bless you and your family, my friend. : ) Bob

Your poem Some Are Rich Some Are Poor demonstrated a clear theme that is easily conveyed. Your use of repetition and restructuring worked to your benefit. The colors and picture added to the poem. I don't have any suggestions.
Well Done!

Some are rich, some are poor...", is an exceptionally well-written and spiritually-uplifting piece. Penned with craft and well-honed skill, this talented poet has told it as it is. To me, this is definitely a six. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Roy,
Your poem speaks of making the great decision of
believing in God and accepting Christ as the Redeemer
of our sins.
Great teaching poem to spur the readers mind to
study and act upon this opportunity of eternal life.
Peace,
Richie

It's hard to know why some find it easy to receive the Lord's gift of salvation and others bereave God of what's precious to Him - these souls whom He created and loves so much. It is so amazing to think how God already planned our redemption from the beginning.
Comment:
Here you have God being bereaved because of Adam's sin:
"In Adam's sin we were conceived,
and God would know and be bereaved.
...
Then at the end you have:
I don't know why some men receive
while others turn... God still bereaves.
So I wonder since it's these others who bereave God by refusing to turn to Him, perhaps it should read: "God's still bereaved" ? Did I understand it right?

It is about the choices we make. We have free will, but not all use it wisely. In the end we can choose to avail ourselves of the gift of everlasting life, or walk away. None can say they were not offered the opportunity...
