An inspirational poem my friend. I just started a book title "Rich Man, Poor Man". Your title made me think of the book. I'm not very far into it but I doubt that it will give me the inspiration that your poetry does.

Thank you for sharing.

Blessings
Janet

Hi there,
I like the musicality of your work...especially the effective use of repetition of ...While some are poor and some have wealth. also I like how you remind us that we have free will, free to be blind and free to see and that not everything is by chance or fated. - Lobber

A very well-written poem about rich in worldly things don't matter to God when our heart is not honest and pure. The poor are usually hard working and are humble to know they need God in their lives.

We may well wonder why some people seem to get all the breaks while others are constantly on the losing end. As you state in your notes, we can choose. Your variations on "While some are poor and some have wealth" are excellent. Our chances are equal with God. No matter how rich or poor, everyone is destined to die. We should focus on the grace of God and not on pursuing earthly dreams. Excellent rhyme and flow. judi

I love the many messages conveyed in this. Life and the inevitability of death, and why many resist the Lord although he is near desiring that all reach out to Him. Thanks for sharing this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

This poem brings to mind the moment and the reason for Jesus to ask the rich young ruler to sell it all and come follow Him. His Phrase about the needle is beyond carnal understanding.
Good one Bro.

Hi Roy. I love this. Love the selection of Bible verses, as well. :)

Favorite lines, though they be many. :)
the eyes see light -- its wondrous dance.
for God's not taken by surprise;
before creation's stone was laid,
God deemed man's sin by Christ be paid.

We may be rich, we could be poor
we are indeed somebody's fool.
We may be rich, we could be poor
we enter through the self-same door.
But man by nature still resists,
and God in love always persists. >> these two are my MOST favorite. :) (And now I sound like my 3-year-old grandson... lol)

Love this and wish I had an exceptional rating to give. :)
Be blessed, my friend.
Deb

Your skillfully-written, inspirational poem is quite moving, thought-provoking, and Biblical in its powerful message. It makes me think of the expression "The ground is level at the foot of the Cross." Indeed, it is.

Just like the Bible says, "For the poor you will always have with you in the land. Therefore I command you, 'You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.'" (Deuteronomy 15:7-11)
