roy: great witness to the world. I pray that people do know the saving grace of Jesus. We can't stay inside cliques, our friends only. We must love others. Great scriptures and my favorites. I like how people help people in this covid time. God's blessings to you. flylikeaneagle

I read this several times and appreciate how you rephrase certain lines later on in the poem, reinforcing the points (rich/poor and luck/stealth). The world is in turmoil now over social injustice and the disparity between the rich and the poor. But it is focused on earthly standards. What peace, what freedom if all people knew that being rich or poor is a matter of having faith in God's promises! But as you write, "I don't know why some men receive while others turn..." I'm reminded of Mark 10:21-23. God created the plan for man, is always in charge, but he is still bereaved. The artwork is intriguing. I see people created out of Chaos as well as jigsaw puzzle pieces that fit together! I'm glad I read this poem.

Excellent spiritual and philosophical quatrains on the meaning of life, of being rich and poor and why God designed it this way. Great meter, rhyme and flow.

We may be rich, we could be poor
we enter life by nature's door.
Betwixt the famous or unknown
we're made from flesh...and blood... and bone

Thank you for the scriptural references.

I like the repetition in this poem that emphasizes your points. It doesn't matter if we are rich or poor but if we live a good life with what we have.
We need to be thankful for the love and grace we are given.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Joan

Yes, indeed, some are rich most are not and even more have less than nothing. Yet I suppose most across this wide board believe in something to keep them going. A fine poem you've written. All best.Ulla:)))

For some reason, while I was reading this a line from Fiddler on the Roof came to mind. I'm not sure I remember it exactly, but it's thought stuck with me all these years:
God must love the poor, he made so many of them.

Whatever our challenges, we all need to turn to God for help.

Well written.

What your poem highlights is that we may come from different backgrounds, but we're all on the same journey. A thought-provoking piece, Roy. I enjoyed reading it.

There will always be the haves and the have nots in society, but having wealth does not necessary make people happy. The poorest of households have much love and feel supported by their families. A fine faithful write Roy, love Dolly x

This poem deals with the theme of why people might be rich or poor in life, pointing out that it is not a permanent state of affairs, and in spite of what looks obvious, there may be more to why things are the way they are. Nice eight stanza form.

We are all living in the same world which was created by God. Yet there are those who do not conceive the truth, nor wish to. They have their entire life to choose.
Your message is daunting and profound regarding our existence and perception. There are those who believe and those who do not, a great mixture of both.
