I can hear the wonderful sounds in my mind. Calming in their excitement. Soothing my heart as the lightning bugs give their own little light show. A beautiful poem.

Very nice 5-7-5. I live in a town that is wooded in some places, and on hot summer nights you can hear the Cicadas if you drive down certain roads. In between you can hear crickets and peepers (the are a little different then cicadas. Your poem brought back all those wonderful sounds for me. Unfortunately, some of our trees were sprayed with industrial insecticide, and in many places , this beautiful symphony can't be heard any more.

This has some sound and sight imagery going on here. I caught some visual 'c' alliteration with cicada, chorus, cricket, and curtain. There is short 'i' assonance with cicada, cricket, and symphony with emphasized words. Dramatic lighting in the art choice, too. Nice share.

Lovely sound poem. I like how as the day becomes night and it gets darker, the stronger sounds of the cicadas fade into the softer song of the crickets. Best wishes in the contest!

It was easier before cell phones when the realtor scheduled instead of calling saying, "Can we show your house NOW?" But the pandemic should make it easier with more video showings. Keep up the great work! 🙏
