Good luck in the contest, Yvette. Oh, thank you for saving me a seat. I really enjoyed the idea of the cicada chorus being replaced by the crickets as night falls. Both of these sounds are delightful, enjoyable and entertaining. Well done.
May I ask where you are moving to?

So glad you stopped in to join me today, Alie -- this is a show I try to breathe in at the end of these crazy days... wasn't this stuff of 'house prep' a lot easier years ago? (wink, wink) LOL! Thanx for the review, my lady, and have a great week! ;) Yvette

You are so welcome Yvette, I do think it was easier years ago, now it's as if you are to prep the house and then move out so it's ready. Whew

Hello Yvette,
You got some wonderful imagery in your 5-7-5 poem.
The music of the night theme is one we can all relate to
and the theater image works well with the falling curtain.
Plus, the colorful presentation adds to the beauty.
Best wishes to you and good luck in the contest.

-Glad things are moving
along with your house!
-The syllable count is good,
along with the effective use
of one continuous thought.
-A good topic and vivid imagery
with the musical and nature references.
-Good luck in the contest and
with the house, too.

You are very welcome, Yvette. I haven't moved very much in all these years, but down the road will be doing so.

You have a way of bringing the chorus to our heart, Yvette. :) I hear the crickets fiddling away every day, got tinnitus. :) You're readying the house for who? Last I read you were downsizing. I hope everything is going well with you.
Jose
P.S. Going to market?

Yeah - selling the house, Jose. At least getting it ready to sell... wasn't this stuff of 'house prep' a lot easier years ago? (wink, wink) LOL! Thanx for the wonderful review, sir - you certainly know how to make a girl smile!! ;) :) Take care and have a great week! ;) Yvette

A very well-written 5-7-5 about a summer evening with thr cicada chorus and the cricket symphony the day ends with a setting sun and a cool breeze to transform day into night.

You have used your seventeen syllables really well to describe these musical "performances," one after the other. Great use of alliteration and metaphors.

You are a true master of arranging words and coordinating colors. Speaking of which, did your real estate agent insist that you paint all your walls boring beige? Funny story, though. I did the kids bathroom in blue and white with orange accents, our school colors. I also put a picture of a panther on the wall. She said that was the one room she wouldn't change. As it turned out, the buyers, who had three boys, took one look at that bathroom and said this is it! Their school colors in California were blue and orange and their mascot was a panther!

LOL!! I'm about at the end of the 'caring rope' on this end so far as this place is concerned, Susan - just so ready to be done. So much else on the plate as well that I'm about ready to just 'call it' as they used to say back in the day with respect to the boys' games - LOL! ;)
I'm so glad you stopped in to join me today, though -- this is one show I try to breathe in at the end of these crazy days... my 'soul time'... (wink, wink) Thanx for the review, my lady, and have a great week! ;) Yvette

All I have to give you for this delightful poem is a five star rating and a prediction that you will win the contest. Everything about your post makes me feel good. There is nothing like summer nights. Days are too hot for me and poems about sunshine don't move me. Your nighttime chorus is perfect though.
Good luck with your home sale.

Yeah, not gonna bet on the prediction, my lady, but I do so appreciate the sentiment -- you are such an awesome ray of sunshine!! ;) So glad you stopped in, BBF -- this is a show I try to breathe in at the end of these crazy days... wasn't this stuff of 'house prep' a lot easier years ago? (wink, wink) LOL! Thanx for the review, Debbie, and have a great week down there! ;) Yvette

Yvette,
I will happily sit on the lawn to hear that choral arrangement. You chose a bunch of c-letter alliterations throughout. Your text colors, background, and artwork are a perfect complement to your verse.
IMHO this entry will fare well in the voting.
Mark
P.S. So you capitalized your first word, but have no punctuation at the end - poet's choice! IMHO this type of poem flows better if 'cicada' is not with an initial cap.

Oh, Mark you have truly made my morning, sir!! And I'm guessing the capital was a remnant of the original type/cut/paste because it is no longer there (thanx for the heads up!)... ;) :) So glad you stopped in to join me today, sir -- it's a show I try to breathe in at the end of these crazy days... wasn't this stuff of 'house prep' a lot easier years ago?
