They can invade the sounds of night, the dear old cicadas, I think they grind their legs together. To make those sounds, they're very loud on a clear night. Well done, beautifully written Yvette, blessings, Roy

Thank you for posting this upbeat poem about summer. I just read one about a damp, late-season with thoughts of tumultuous times. I appreciate your saving me a seat so that I could hear the "symphony" and watch night's curtain fall. Your use of alliteration, colored text and wonderful painting added greatly to the effect. I love the different musical sounds that nature provides - you poetically capture 2 of them as day changes to night. In Australia, to me, cicadas are definitely the sound of summer (but not in southern New Zealand where i now live.)
