this is a lovely 575 poem, Y.M Roger.
the cricket symphony evokes lovely memories of being in the woods at night under a full moon in the summer.

the picture is well suited too

Yvette,
I have listened to these concerts. Your poem
reminded me of the times I have lived in the country;
sitting on the front porch of a 100 year old farmhouse
at dusk listening to natures musicians.
Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Richie

Still out here, Richie -- country girl growing up, had my time in the city, but we're back in the country now and wouldn't trade it for anything!! ;) :) Thanx for stopping in, sir -- you take good care of you and yours and have a Tremendous Tuesday! :) Yvette

I can hear your poem, Y.M. The loudness of cicadas and the softer rhythm of crickets. So few words can capture a whole mood for a reader. Thoughtful listening and communication.

I love the alliteration in this short poem and I can almost hear the crickets chirping. The image and colors work well too. This piece is an excellent contest entry.

So glad you stopped in to join me today, Susan -- this is a show I try to breathe in at the end of these crazy days... wasn't this stuff of 'house prep' a lot easier years ago? (wink, wink) LOL! Thanx for the review, my lady, and have a great week! ;) Yvette

This is a lovely posting for the 5-7-5 contest. It generates peace through strong imagery and a soothing picture with a body of water in the background reflecting light. I enjoyed reading it very much, Yvette!

Yvette, Great descriptive poem. I can almost hear the magical concert. But it is to hot to sit outside and listen. LOL! Wish you well in the contest - Jerry

The front porch with the ceiling fans (and opposite side of the house from the setting sun!) is a wonderful refuge in the evenings, Jerry! ;) Thanx so much for stopping in, sir -- you have a great rest of the week out there! :) Yvette

The author's words are clear, interesting and creative. I liked the last
line of this poem as it says to me "day is done". The poem is serene
and calming. It flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and
goes well with these words. Hope you are having a great Sunday!

This 5-7-5, Summertime Showcase, has the right set up and listens in as the days insect serenade has a shift change and the woodwinds are replaced by the strings.

Hello Yvette.
You start out the poem with cicadas. One night 30 years ago it was a hot summer evening and the noise of the cicadas was unbelievable. I looked at the words and told the person with me, it's teeming with life in there. That's what cicadas do. The transition to crickets is when the cicadas finally wear themselves out.

    They are really loud.
We would like to have a single floor plan but the idea of moving makes me catatonic. 😕

My knees have begun hollering louder than the cicadas so the knees won on getting outta here and to the single story!! ;) Yvette
