I think we still use flowers today to express our emotions and I often received red roses from my husband throughout our marriage. Your poem is gentle and your well chosen words here are a joy to read, love Dolly x

I'm at a bit of a disadvantage. Poetry is not my strong suit and I wouldn't know what to suggest to improve your poem, if there was a need for improvement. Based on the requirements for this prompt, it is very well written. On top of that, I learned something new and enriching about poetry. Very well done.

I love the form of your poem shaped as a diamond, and yes the key to a girl's heart are flowers, and the rose is considered to be the most romantic flower: "Just one red rose did make her eyes shine bright
Though white orchids could have felt right
When emotions are stirred
reason takes flight
like a bird -
She purred

This is an awesome poem that follows the syllable and rhyme pattern but also shows how much women want affection. A simple flower would have been sufficient but she was overjoyed to have a rose.
