An excellent sijo poem, which I am hardly acquainted with, but looks like a form to explore more fully in the era of brevity.
Excellent metaphor for the gentle sheep that are to be flocked home safe and sound.
Excellent post and another form to explore so many thanks for that, Gypsy. :)

It's fascinating how the meaning shifts in this poem from a regular shephard's job into a more metaphorical Sheperding once you introduced the word 'Lord' in the poem. Great way of layering! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for introducing me to the Sijo form. I liked your depiction of the bucolic setting, enhanced by colorful descriptions and use of alliteration. Smiles- Joan

This is a great poem that shows how blessed we feel to have the a shepherd watching over his flock and how wonderful it is when we are all welcomed home.

So happy to see you write a sijo! I created a sijo contest during my first year here. Dean was so good to give it a try.
Enjoyed your sijo and I read a more spiritual meaning of Jesus as our Shepherd protecting all of His flock until we are all Home.

Thank you very much. I heard you are an expert at Sijo poetry. Your opinion means a lot to me. It's my first one but I am intrigued to learn more.

I'm by no means an expert! I just shared at that time because I knew there was interest in Japanese poetry but so little was known about Korean poetry. Thank you for being the ambassador here!
-
Roy told me you are originally from Korea. Is that true?
-
Yes, that's true! 😊
-
Cool ...I'm from Spain. I probably I already told you. I moved to the USA when I was 16 years.
-
Yes, I remember. And when I see poppies, I think of you gathering them for your mom. 💕

This is a most interesting form. It tells the story from the standpoint of the shepherd and that of the sheep. Caretaker, what the sheep needs. Job done. Very soothing words and fantastic artwork. Bucolic.

Well done Gypsy. I wonder if Helen is inspired by these works. She was born in Korea, but now she lives in the US. This is rather brilliant my friend, well done, Roy

Gypsy! This is a really beautiful and original sijo. But I could have expected it from you. You are an expert in these kinds of poetry. Thanks too for the perfect explanation. I am happy to see my poem inspired you!

What a superb poem, and I wish I had a six left. I never wrote a Sijo, but now I think I will, after reading yours. Excellent imagery and visuals. Your words transport us to a wonderful world of the golden pastures and sheep, to nature at its best.
Thanks for the journey!

Wonderful combination of nature and the Lord's message as a take away, thank you for sharing! We live in the country and have a deep respect for the Lord's flocks and His Word. It's always great hooking up with fellow believers who walk the talk. Thanks!
