There is something about this one that has a pristine quality. It's colorful, precise, simple, clear, to the point, causing reader to think of this topic in new ways. Great photo! Great coloring. Has that extra something.
Well done, Roy!

Now that is one mean looking clown. Usually, I think of them as quite funny and jovial. I always liked the small car stuffed with them at the circus, and then all their crazy antics.

So true! Clowns are considered to make us laugh. And when the clown is good at his/her job, we will laugh, or at least smile. Children are good public for clowns because they are innocent. I must have been an exception. For some reason or another, I always thought that under the thick layers of make-up and the big, smiling red mouth, the clown was crying. Even as a small child, going to a circus with my mom and dad after the war was a feast, a joyous event. But when the clown came and all the children laughed, I wanted to run to him to console him, because I thought he cried.

There's always something mysterious about a clown. I remember Jimmy Stewart's portrayal in "The Greatest Show on Earth," and he did quite a secret. If their motivation is the desire to entertain, that's good enough reason for them to go into the business. We don't really know whether a clown is sad or happy, but they have to act the part anyway. This makes a great subject, as people are always fascinated by clowns. judi

Roy, This is a very colorful and well written Cinquain poem you have penned about the clown. I have never liked or wanted to be a clown. I try not to be a clown, even though I do stupid things that make me feel like a bonfide clown. lol. thanks for sharing. blessings, Teri

A very well-written cinquain about a sad person who out on a happy face and try to feel better about himself when he does funny stuff that make make others laugh.

My husband feels he must prepare himself for the worst because in today's world it's certainly going to happen. We had this conversation during dinner last night. I told him that I don't want to prepare for the worst that I choose to pray about the situation and believe God is in charge. This poem reminded me of that conversation and reminds me to pray again that God will take care of the situation. He is in charge.

A clown, someone who is happy and sad at the same time, these are the two personas we think of when we see a clown, is he really happy? Clowns give me the creeps, a fine Cinquain, love Dolly x

An interesting cinquain , Roy. Good observations about a simple word we often don't think about. I have no suggestions for improvement and ofund no errors. :)
I 'got' to be a clown every weekend for almost a year, dong kid's birthday parties to raise money to go to church camp. NEVER AGAIN! lol. It was worth it, but it was a total pain. :)
Blessings,
Deb

I can imagine, I played in musicals and wore makeup, I felt very comfortable that didn't play myself. I realised we are very complex. Bless you dear girl Roy

I like your definitions of the Clown, and yes we carry with us the magic and mask of the Clown. "A clown
a sad person
or somebody quite happy
could be someone who loves travel - or
foolish." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.
